Quantum Process Integration Engineer

Microsoft’s Quantum team is collaborative and interdisciplinary. You will work closely with a diverse and international team within Microsoft that brings together engineers, physicists, and software engineers. By bringing together a unique combination of knowledge, cutting edge hardware and engineering excellence, we build novel solutions to the world’s hardest and most impactful computational problems.

As a Quantum Process Integration Engineer you will support the identification of factors that drive fabrication and measurement parameters. You will conduct experiments to create and improve fabrication techniques and materials, with the overall goal to increase yield and quality of the Qubits.

This opportunity will allow you to get a deep understanding of the fabrication and architecture of a topological Qubit.

As the scope of the work requires work in the clean room as well as office work for data analysis, work from home is possible to a certain extent.

Responsibilities

• Analyze characterization data using classical and AI-enabled methods to identify trends, anomalies, and factors affecting device performance.
• Collaborate with electrical characterization teams to investigate device failures and develop an understanding of the underlying physical mechanisms.
• Work with structural characterization teams to perform physical failure analysis.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis of quality and yield excursions and help identify potential process improvements.
• Plan and execute experiments to improve process performance, yield, quality, and robustness.
• Contribute to the development and qualification of new processes for future generations of qubit devices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field.

•

• OR Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Engineering, or related field AND experience in industry.
• OR equivalent experience.
• Hands on experience in semiconductor device fabrication
• Good foundation in semiconductor physics

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualification in Lean, 6sigma and similar methodologies
• Experience in using AI for failure analysis, experiment design and analysis
• Specific III/V-semiconductor fabrication
• Previous experience in the semiconductor industry
• Experience in statistical data analysis

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Quantum Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Denmark is kr 572,800.00 - kr 958,900.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
