About the job

Parliament is seeking two student assistants with a strong interest in the work within the EU's institutions, Parliament's work with EU affairs, and the implementation of EU law in Denmark.

In Parliament's EU Information we bring the EU close to the Danes.

We explain what the EU means, and why it is so important to stay informed and take a position. We explain how the EU and Parliament are connected, and how EU legislation becomes Danish practice. And we do it at eye level – in a way that opens people’s eyes.

Here you come into the picture! If you’re a bit of an EU nerd like us, this position can give you the opportunity to try your hand at a variety of tasks, so you can certainly become one of Denmark’s sharpest EU minds.

Your primary tasks

You will work in Parliament's EU Information, but will also handle tasks for Parliament's EU consultants. Both parts fall under the International Secretariat in Parliament Administration.

In the EU Information call center you will provide neutral, balanced and factual information about large and small questions regarding the EU and Denmark's relationship to the EU to, for example, citizens, researchers, graduate students, journalists, school pupils, interest groups, party supporters and Members of Parliament. You will get the opportunity to work with EU law in practice, and you will dive into directives and regulations from the EU.

You will become an expert at searching databases such as the EU Court’s site Curia, the EU’s EUR-Lex site with EU legislation, and Retsinformation in relation to the implementation of EU law in Denmark. And you will become fully proficient in how Parliament's role in the EU decision-making procedure works in practice.

Furthermore there will be research tasks and opportunities, among other things, to give presentations on the EU to high school students. You will also be required to update and write short articles for eu.dk .

Your profile

  • You are pursuing a relevant university education such as law, political science or history.
  • You have a very good understanding of the EU’s structure, institutions and procedures (at university level) and a strong interest in the area.
  • You have experience working more practically with EU topics, for example via your studies, a student job or internship.
  • You have a burning desire to work with public information.
  • You would like to be part of an exciting professional environment at Christiansborg that is non-partisan.
  • You are comfortable giving presentations to smaller groups.
  • You have strong analytical skills.
  • You have good ability to articulate yourself clearly both in writing and orally in Danish. Also under time pressure.
  • You have good English skills. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage (primarily French, German).
  • You are collaborative and willing to take on new tasks, big or small.

Your workplace

Your physical workplace will be the Provianthuset, Christiansborg. You will be part of life at Christiansborg and gain unique insight into Danish European policy. We can offer fun and varied tasks in a team consisting of seven full-time employees and a strong group of like-minded student assistants.

We place a high priority on your personal development and well-being.

Salary and conditions of employment

Employment is in accordance with the collective agreement and the associated organizational agreement for office workers (HK Stat).

Working hours average 15 hours per week, distributed over two full weekly working days (9.00-16.30). In the summer months (June, July, August) the average working time is 8 hours per week.

Start is expected on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Note! Employment requires that the applicant can present a “suitable” criminal record.

Information and application

You can obtain more information about the position from the team coordinator for EU Information, Kirstine Chege, tel. 6162 5797 .

Application deadline: 11 November 2026, 12:00

We expect to hold interview rounds on 24 and 25 November. It will take place in person at Christiansborg. It is, however, possible to hold the interview as a virtual meeting if you, for example, are on internship abroad.

Before the interview you will be asked to solve a small task (a case), which will be sent to you to answer at home within a given timeframe. We can typically offer you a couple of different times to solve this task, but answering the task is a prerequisite to being invited to the interview.
