Laboratory Technician Intern for Teaching and Research and Innovation Tasks

Are you a laboratory technician student and looking for an exciting internship where you can gain practical experience with laboratory work in a professional environment?

At Erhvervsakademi Aarhus we are seeking a laboratory internship for a full-time position from February 1 to December 31, 2027. You will become part of our laboratory environment, where you will help with the daily laboratory operations and preparation of teaching. To a lesser extent there will also be tasks in our Research and Innovation Department (R&I).

We are looking for an intern who wants to learn, takes responsibility for their own tasks and thrives with practical laboratory work and collaboration with others.

About us

Erhvervsakademi Aarhus (EAAA) is Aarhus' third largest educational institution with over 30 full-time programs in areas such as laboratory, foods and environment.

Our laboratory education and research and innovation activities are gathered on a modern science campus in Viby J. Here we have well-equipped laboratories with modern analytical equipment, where teachers, laboratory technicians and researchers work closely together on teaching and development projects.

About the internship

As a laboratory internship you will have a varied daily life, where you help to keep the laboratories ready, prepare laboratory exercises and participate in the delivery of teaching.

You will work together with experienced laboratory technicians, teachers and researchers who help you get started with the tasks.

Your tasks will include among others to

• prepare laboratories, materials and equipment for teaching and laboratory exercises
• prepare buffers, reagents and solutions
• perform calibration and control of pipettes
• help with cleanup, cleaning and daily laboratory operations, including coat washing
• maintain and control laboratory equipment
• assist with sample preparation and practical laboratory experiments
• participate in laboratory tasks in connection with R&I projects
• contribute to good laboratory practice, quality and safety

Depending on the current tasks and projects you will have the opportunity to work with different laboratory techniques within chemistry, biotechnology and microbiology.

Your competencies

You do not need to be able to do everything from the start. The internship is part of your education, and we emphasize that you want to learn and develop your laboratory-related skills.

• have an interest in practical laboratory work within chemistry, biotechnology and/or microbiology
• work carefully and in a structured way
• can take responsibility for your tasks and work independently when you have been introduced to them
• thrive with collaboration and want to learn new methods and techniques

The most important is that you are curious, have drive and want to contribute to the everyday life in the laboratory.

Employment

This is a fixed-term full-time position as a laboratory intern from February 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027.

Employment and compensation are as a laboratory intern according to the applicable agreement with the Ministry of Finance and HK.
