About the job

Institute of Odontology and Oral Health at Aarhus University’s Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking a management consultant for the institute secretariat as of 1 February 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a permanent full-time position.

As a management consultant at the Institute of Odontology and Oral Health you will be employed at an internationally recognised institute where we research health and disease in teeth, mouth and jaws. We have an inspiring international research environment with specialised research laboratories, modern clinical facilities and advanced digital equipment at the institute.

We educate the comprehensive orofacial treatment team for the health service, distributed across three main professions: dentist, dental hygienist and clinical dental technician. We create synergy between the education and train students to prevent and treat disease and to promote health in the population. At the institute we have around 300 staff and 700 students. Our research and teaching activities focus on orofacial health as an integrated part of overall health.

Collaboration is central in our work and reflects our values of respect, trust, recognition and professionalism. You can read more about the institute here and about the faculty here .

Your tasks

You will become part of the Institute Secretariat, which provides administrative and strategic support to the institute’s staff and leadership. The secretariat comprises a broad range of competencies and works with administrative, coordinating and development-oriented tasks across the institute.

As a management consultant you will have a central and versatile role with close contact to the institute leadership and the institute’s various professional and administrative environments, including the clinical education environment. You will have the opportunity to drive your own development tasks and contribute to cross-cutting initiatives in areas that have great significance for the institute’s operation and development. A substantial part of the position involves translating needs and decisions into concrete processes and solutions and creating coordination and progress across the organisation.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • develop and drive cross-cutting development tasks and projects related to the institute’s clinic
  • contribute to developing information security in the clinic and translate requirements and guidelines into clinical practice
  • coordinate and further develop the institute’s work with emergency preparedness and contingency planning
  • handle the secretariat support for the institute’s local Occupational Health and Safety Committee and contribute to development and follow-up of health and safety initiatives
  • coordinate and develop the institute’s work with generative AI and contribute to a responsible and value-creating use of the technology
  • drive the implementation of self-reporting for vacation and absence and contribute to the development of simple and efficient workflows
  • coordinate the secretariat’s joint meetings and contribute to the development of cross-cutting activities in the secretariat
  • contribute to developing the institute’s use of Workzone with a focus on appropriate workflows for filing and document handling
  • contribute to development and ad hoc projects across the institute’s disciplinary areas

Across the tasks you will play an important role as a link between management, staff and different professional and administrative functions. You shall be able to drive your own tasks and create progress in processes where solutions are developed in collaboration with others.

The content of the position will evolve over time. We operate in an organization undergoing change and continuously adapt our administrative support to new needs and requirements. You will therefore have good opportunities to shape and develop the position yourself.

You report to the head of the Institute Secretariat.

Your competencies

You have a relevant educational background at Master’s level and several years of experience with public administration, preferably from the education, research or health sector. You are a skilled communicator with strong Danish and English language skills, both oral and written, and you are proficient with using IT and digital tools in your work.

You have experience with process and project management and thrive with coordinating and development tasks where you must create progress in collaboration with different professional groups. You have an eye for both concrete task solving and the organizational context and are good at translating decisions and requirements into solutions that work in practice.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of GDPR, information security or implementation of digitalization initiatives. We also see that you are interested in the possibilities of generative AI and how new technologies can be used responsibly and in a value-creating way in the organization.

As a person you are outgoing and easily interact at different levels in the organisation. You have good collaboration skills, are approachable and actively contribute to a good working environment. You enjoy a broad range of contacts - internally at the institute, at the faculty and across Aarhus University as well as in cooperation with relevant external partners.

In the secretariat we have an informal and positive tone, and we place emphasis on both professional and social community.
