About the job
Do you want to work close to citizens and ensure that their voice has real influence in the planning of social efforts?
One of our permanent social workers is going on maternity leave. Therefore we are looking for a social worker for a fixed-term maternity cover with start on January 1, 2027 and expected employment until October 31, 2027 . The duration may change depending on the permanent employee's maternity leave.
At Skovvang we meet people experiencing homelessness, mental health vulnerabilities, substance use issues, dual diagnoses and other complex social challenges. The task requires social work depth, curiosity and the ability to create direction in processes where solutions are not always simple or follow a straight path.
The citizen's voice is the starting point
At Skovvang people have the right to live the life they choose – even when their choices differ from ours. The citizen is an expert in their own life and must feel heard, understood and actively involved in the decisions that concern their daily life and future.
As a social worker you must be able to translate the citizen's perspective into concrete goals and actions. You must also be able to balance self-determination with social-work assessments, statutory frameworks and the need for support. It requires you to be listening, clear and persistent – also when the citizen's situation is complex.
We work from Housing First , where having one's own housing is seen as a fundamental right and as the foundation for addressing other challenges. Our practice is also inspired by recovery-oriented rehabilitation, Traumebevidst Tilgang (TBT), cognitive methods as well as an appreciative and relationship-based approach.
Your tasks
As a social worker at Skovvang you work close to the citizens and their everyday life. You will have a central role in creating coherence and progress in each citizen's process – from the first contact and registration until the citizen is ready to move on to their own housing or to another relevant offer.
Your tasks will include, among others
- To hold conversations with citizens about their current situation, wishes, resources, support needs and goals for the future.
- To undertake social-work assessment, counseling, follow-up and documentation.
- To work with VUM and ensure that the citizen's perspective is clearly stated in assessments, goals and agreements.
- To handle tasks related to admission and discharge under the Social Services Act § 110.
- To follow up on citizens' stays and, together with the citizen, work toward a relevant and sustainable housing solution.
- To support the citizen in contact with authorities, housing organizations, benefits department, job center and other relevant partners.
- To coordinate the transition from a temporary stay to own housing and ensure that the necessary support is considered from the beginning.
- To prepare social-work descriptions, functional ability descriptions and other relevant documentation.
- To obtain and compile relevant information so that a holistic picture of the citizen's situation can be created.
- To plan and participate in network meetings, discharge meetings and interdisciplinary meetings.
- To collaborate with among others authority advisers, housing support, psychiatry, practicing doctors, substance treatment, job center and external municipalities.
- To contribute with social-work perspectives and sparring to colleagues in complex citizen journeys.
- To help ensure coherence between the citizen's wishes, the social-work effort and the legal framework.
You must be able to keep direction in a process, even when the citizen's situation changes, or when many actors are involved. At the same time you must be able to be proactive and create contact with citizens who do not always seek help themselves or have the capacity to keep agreements.
Experience from the authority area is an advantage, as you must be able to navigate safely in social law and understand the connection between authority, operations and the citizen's concrete life situation.
We value that you
- Are a trained social worker and have sound social-work judgment.
- Have knowledge of the specialized social area and relevant social legislation.
- Can work systematically and independently with documentation and follow-up.
- Meet people respectfully and can maintain the citizen's perspective in cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Can create overview and direction in complex and sometimes unpredictable processes.
- Can work proactively, persistently and flexibly.
- Communicate clearly and can stand firm professionally when the situation requires it.
- Can collaborate with many different professional groups, authorities and external actors.
- Contribute actively to collaboration with openness, integrity and humor.
With us you get
You will be part of a workplace with high professional standards, close collaboration and short distances from professional reflection to action. We have a good and respectful tone, a good working environment and room for humor in everyday life. We prioritize professional sparring and consciously work with an open feedback culture where we can speak directly and properly to each other.
There is room here for different perspectives – and a common expectation that we help each other succeed for the citizens. We emphasize that it should be professionally developmental and pleasant to go to work.
