Mathematics and English teacher for 10th grade

Then you may be the teacher we are currently looking for for our 10th grade.

At the Hotel- and Restaurant School we view our 10th grade as an offering to young people who have a particular need to be clarified and ready for a youth education. We work purposefully to make the students more capable through social and academic well-being, diverse teaching with theme weeks, and bridging to the youth educations, including the school's own.

The Team

You will become part of Team10, which collaborates about our students distributed across three classes. The team consists, in addition to a Director of Education, of a number of engaged and dedicated subject teachers as well as a UU counselor. We are diverse – both professionally and personally – which is a strength in a small team that itself handles several cross-disciplinary tasks. Responsibilities and tasks

The position primarily focuses on teaching in mathematics and English, but also preferably Danish if you can teach it. In addition, you will also take on a important role as contact teacher. As a 10th grade teacher you will be a central part of a smaller development team and therefore have the opportunity to influence and develop both the pedagogical and subject direction in 10th grade – and thus also your own daily life.

Your main tasks will be to

• Teach the school's 10th graders in mathematics and lead the classes to final exams.
• Teach other subjects such as Danish or English.
• Be a contact teacher in a class, for both students and their parents.
• Teach in one or more elective subjects – you have a say in the topics.
• Participate in the team's cross-disciplinary and autonomous planning tasks.
• Contribute to developing a good and safe teaching environment for the school's 10th grade.

About you

You are trained as a primary school teacher or have similar prerequisites and can teach in mathematics and preferably English and Danish with documented teaching experience.

In addition, we expect that you

• Have knowledge of lower secondary and/or 10th grade and experience with leading to final exams.
• Can contribute with topics and teaching in elective subjects.
• Are passionate about working with young people and can build strong relationships with the students.
• Have clear classroom management and can navigate the different ways students learn.
• Have a positive and motivating approach to students, colleagues and team collaboration.
• Can work in a structured way with your goals for students' teaching and well-being.

Employment terms

The position is desired to be filled on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible.

You will be employed in accordance with the Ministry of Education's circular no. 101 of February 1, 2007. The salary is determined by the Circular on agreements on salaries for teachers employed on pension-like terms at vocational schools. There is a pension scheme linked to the position at 18%.

The position is 37 hours per week including lunch and will typically be in the hours 8-16. For larger events, weekend and evening work may occur.

Please note that we have smoke-free working hours and that we, in connection with the appointment, obtain a child certificate.
