Permanent 32-hour position – weekday work with every weekend and holidays off

At Bøgehuset we are looking for a cleaning assistant who wants to become an important part of everyday life in a house with high professionalism, strong sense of community and room for both humor and seriousness.

A position with both practical tasks and close contact with residents

It is important to know that this is not a traditional cleaning job. Every morning you help children and young people get started with their day, and you become a visible and important person in the house. Therefore, we are looking for a colleague who thrives on human contact and wants to be close to the children's everyday life.

An important role in the morning and the rest of the day

The workday starts at 7:00, where you help a child/young person with morning routines until about 8:00. Here you are an important and secure support at the start of the day for the child/young person.

Thereafter you independently handle the house's service and cleaning tasks, including

• Cleaning of common areas and the children’s rooms
• Ordering goods and keeping control of the depot and storage
• Planning and prioritizing your own tasks
• Cooperation with colleagues across professional groups

In case of vacation or illness in the kitchen you help with cooking and take over kitchen tasks on the respective day.

We are looking for a colleague who

• Thrives with daily contact with people and can calmly and respectfully engage in their daily life
• Wants to help the children with morning routines as a natural part of the job
• Is independent, responsible and good at creating structure in your tasks
• Can maintain an overview and calm in a day when needs can vary
• Is engaged and prepared for that everyday life at a residential facility can be unpredictable
• Has experience with or interest in cleaning, cooking, service and practical tasks
• Wants to participate in a close and well-functioning collaboration with colleagues

You do not need experience with deaf-blindness

Most of us started without knowledge of deaf-blindness or the communication forms we use. The most important thing is your curiosity and willingness to learn along the way.

We provide thorough introduction, shadow shifts and ongoing sparring so you become confident in the task.

About Bøgehuset

At Bøgehuset, 5 children and young people with congenital deaf-blindness combined with physical and mental developmental disabilities live who need support in everyday life. In addition there are respite places, currently connected to 4 respite children. We are about 15 employees who ensure that the children and young people are in good hands. We work closely together to create safe surroundings, good relationships and a day-to-day life that works – for both children, young people and us who work here.

We believe that good relationships, high professional standards and a strong sense of community contribute to a good life for the residents and a good workplace for employees.

Bøgehuset is part of Offer for Children and Adults with Deafblindness and Hearing Loss , together with the Youth Home, Planet House, Activity and Social Offer and the Treatment Department. We are part of the Area for Communication and Special Education in the Special Sector, Region of Northern Jutland.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement for cleaning assistants and others concluded with 3F.
