Job Description
When you become part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, you have the opportunity to perform meaningful work and become part of a team that highly values performance, quality, collaboration, and innovation. We manufacture products used in cutting-edge research and production of life-saving medicines, and we support our customers worldwide in areas including laboratories, diagnostics, pharmaceutical production, and research.
About the position
We are seeking a metrology technician with a strong technical understanding, good knowledge of technical drawings, experience with measuring equipment and an interest in precision and quality.
You will become part of our Technical Quality team in Roskilde, where your primary area of responsibility will be metrology and dimensional measurement of our plastic elements.
Your main day-to-day will be centered around metrology and measuring-related work. If you are interested in exploring other areas within Technical Quality, there will also be opportunities to broaden your experience and involve yourself in selected Quality tasks in the extended team, as well as improvement initiatives across the organization.
The position thus gives you the opportunity to build strong specialist knowledge in metrology, while – if you wish and are interested – you can gain insight into and develop your skills within the broader quality and production area.
Your primary responsibilities
- Planning, execution and documentation of dimensional measurements on different types of plastic components
- Measurement of quality-critical parameters in connection with validation, verification, investigations and ongoing support to production
- Development and maintenance of measurement programs for optical and tactile measuring equipment
- Interpretation of technical drawings, specifications, tolerances and measurement requirements
- Professional sparring and metrological expertise in connection with investigations of dimensional deviations and other technical quality issues
- Participation in improvement activities related to measurement methods, equipment, processes and workflows
- Collaboration with Production, Engineering, Quality Assurance, R&D and other functions on measurement-related topics
- Occasional dialogue with customers about molds, measurements and specifications, for example in connection with changes.
Broader tasks within Technical Quality
Aside from your primary metrology tasks, you will have the opportunity to contribute to other Technical Quality activities, depending on priorities, interest, and capacity.
If you are curious, eager to learn, and motivated to apply and develop your technical skills beyond the traditional scope of a metrology role, there is a good opportunity to vary the content of your position.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in the role, we imagine you
- Have a relevant technical education, for example as a metrology technician or draughtsman, or have attained equivalent practical competencies through experience and relevant courses. Experience with subject construction and/or calibration can also be relevant
- Have practical experience with geometric and dimensional measuring techniques
- Have experience with or knowledge of programming measuring equipment
- Work in a structured and systematic way and have a strong eye for detail, and can read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Take responsibility for your tasks and have a focus on quality and thorough, reliable documentation
- Thrive working independently within your specialist area and also collaborate across the organization – and with tasks and priorities that can vary
- Are motivated to continually learn new technical areas and quality disciplines
- Proficient in Danish, as it is required in the position, and can communicate effectively in English, including in customer dialogue.
It is also an advantage if you
- Have knowledge of plastic parts and plastic production
- Have experience from a regulated industry, such as medical, pharma, food or other quality-regulated production
What do we offer?
- A specialist position with the possibility to also develop yourself in other technical areas and broaden your knowledge within Quality
- Opportunity to influence how our metrology and measurement activities develop
- Close collaboration with colleagues across functions and departments
- Bonus scheme and access to our free health clinic and fitness facilities at the workplace
- Great flexibility in the composition of working hours
- An active staff association
Note that Thermo Fisher Scientific in Roskilde is a smoke-free workplace, both indoors and outdoors.
