About the job We are looking for a pedagogue who wants to be close to the children – and who at the same time wants to help develop our professional practice, which we are well underway with.

In Smedebakken we work with small groups, presence, play, nature and slow pedagogy. We practice being slow together because we believe that children need adults who can be present and notice what is happening right in front of us, and be slow together.

At the moment we are at an exciting professional place. The next three years Smedebakken will be part of All Children's Daycare, where together with KP we will work on our pedagogical practice. Here we will explore, practise and become wiser about how we create good participation opportunities, strong children's communities in play in our daily lives.

This is not a project that sits beside our everyday work. It is something we must work on where it all happens – together with the children.

We work, among other things, with the Care Gripe from Børns Vilkår, where we practice looking behind the behaviour and asking: What is the child trying to tell me? For us, the child's behaviour is not just something to be changed. It tells us something that we, as adults, must be curious about. For we do not move the children. We move the adults.

We have about once a month leadership-led supervision with our psychologist who comes to the house.

About you We are looking for a pedagogue or pedagogical assistant (or you who have substantial practical experience and perhaps are thinking about training), who has something on their mind and at the same time wants to continue becoming professionally wiser. but also someone who is new to the field or with many years in their professional toolkit. You do not need to come with all the answers. But you should want to ask questions, wonder, and engage in dialogue with your colleagues. For with us we only succeed in the together.

I like people who dare to say “I actually don’t know” because that speaks of the courage to be all of you. You must be able to see the child before you see the behaviour. You must be able to be close to the children and at the same time hold on to the professional perspective.

You may have something special you are passionate about. Perhaps motor skills, nature, play, relationships or something entirely different. We need different people who can bring their professionalism into play.

About Børnehuset Smedebakken Smedebakken is a nursery house where we have both heart and mind at work.

We are in the process of an exciting professional development, and the next three years we are part of All Children's Daycare, where we, in collaboration with KP, will continue to work on our pedagogical practice and become even wiser about how we create good participation opportunities and strong communities for all children.

We have already begun our professional journey. We have received teaching and professional sparring from Børns Vilkår, where we have worked with the Care Gripe and our perspective on the children and their behaviour.

That work does not stop here. We must continue to translate what we have learned into our daily life on the rooms. We must use our shared professional language, be curious about our own practice and together investigate what we adults can do when something becomes difficult.

Because that is where professionalism must be felt – in the meeting with the children and with each other.

You therefore come into a nursery where there is an opportunity to help set the direction and develop the pedagogical practice together with us.

We focus on our core task, shared course, structure, weekly plans and dialogue. We use each other professionally, and we believe development happens best when we dare to look at our own practice together.

The human is the foundation. and Humans develop the processes.

That is how I want to lead Smedebakken – and that is how I want us to work together.
