About the job
Are you interested in psychiatry – and would you like to help reopen a ward for patients with affective disorders?
The Psychiatric Department Vejle is seeking nurses for Affective Ward 03 as of 01.01.27. We are looking for you who are passionate about caring for and treating people with affective mental disorders and who want to take responsibility in both the operation and development of the ward.
Be part of reopening and shaping a ward
Affective Ward 03 is temporarily closed, and now we have an opportunity to start anew. This means that as a nurse you will have a special chance to help to:
- rebuild and shape the ward
- shape culture, collaboration and professional practice
- help create the best framework for both patients and colleagues
You will become part of an existing staff group that knows the patient group, workflows and each other well – while you gain influence on the reopening and the ongoing development.
Time is allocated for the process, including theme days without patients prior to reopening, where we work together on structure, clinical quality and the working environment.
About the ward and our professional foundation
Affective Ward 03 is part of the Psychiatric Department Vejle, South Denmark Region (Sygehus Lillebælt).
- We primarily treat patients with affective disorders, but we also receive other diagnostic groups
- We provide care and treatment to adults aged 18–69 years
- The ward is integrated with space for 15 patients
We meet people in some of life’s most difficult periods and we see the relationship as one of the most important tools in treatment. Through structure, community, activities and therapeutic relationships we create frameworks that support hope and coping. At the same time we continually work on professional development, reflection and competency development.
We prioritise physical activity, sensory stimulation and nature-based activities as part of the treatment, because we know that well-being and recovery are supported by more than medicine.
Psychiatry merged with somatics as of 01.01.26, which means that the Psychiatric Department Vejle is now part of Sygehus Lillebælt.
That’s why you should choose us
With us you have the opportunity to develop your relational competencies and become part of a ward where we share tasks across professions and work closely together on the individual patient’s treatment.
We offer
- A specialized ward with professionally skilled colleagues
- Thorough introduction and mentor program in the first year
- A one-year competency development program in psychiatry
- Ongoing teaching, supervision and professional sparring
- Possibility for clinical supervisor education and specialized training in psychiatry
- A fast-paced daily life with variety and meaning

- Prepare nursing care plans and document in the EPJ
- Work closely with patients, relatives and colleagues
- Contribute to holistic treatment processes with focus on psychiatric, social and somatic issues
- Actively participate in the development of the ward’s structure, culture and workflows in connection with reopening
We are looking for you who
- Are passionate about psychiatry and want to make a difference for people with affective disorders
- Have an interest in milieu therapy and relational work
