About the job

An working community with high professionalism in nursing and a strong collegial environment.

Are you passionate about nursing patients with acute and chronic heart diseases, and do you want to work in a work environment where we both prioritise professionalism and well-being, then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

We offer a permanent position as of February 1, 2027 or by agreement for 32–37 hours per week. You will be on duty every 4th weekend (8–8.5 hour shifts). The position requires Danish authorization and is therefore not a probationary employment. If you graduate as a nurse in 2027, we would also like to hear from you.

The Department – heart patients around the clock, every day of the year

We receive acute heart patients around the clock, every day of the year, and work closely with the pre-hospital, general practitioners and other departments at Sygehus Lillebælt. The ward and the outpatient clinic are closely integrated, and several nurses have roles in both places. This provides flexible workflows and coherent patient pathways.

We work in a team-organized way, and employee satisfaction is high. You will become part of an environment where beginners and specialists work side by side, learn from each other and stand together on the tasks. Patients often say:

"We can feel that there is a good atmosphere here – you get along well with each other."

Work environment and professionalism – we succeed together

We place great emphasis on a healthy work environment where professionalism and well-being go hand in hand. With us you get:

•

  • a safe work community with a respectful and informal tone
  • dialogue with each other is important, and we are aware that we all are important to solve the shared core task
  • joint and individual breaks during the day, which we value highly, as well as the use of mindfulness to prevent stress and handle emotional demands
  • morning singing and social events
  • fruit and coffee scheme
  • service staff in day and evening hours, so you can focus on the professional nursing care

Humor is a natural part of everyday life – always with respect for each other’s differences and boundaries.

Professional development – nursing in its full breadth

You work with nursing across the entire spectrum – from acute to complex and long-term courses – in close collaboration with patients and relatives. You are never alone in acute or difficult situations, and the interdisciplinary collaboration is close and respectful.

We offer

•

  • individually tailored induction program
  • mentor for the first 12 months
  • education in cardiology nursing and treatment
  • teaching at morning rounds and daily interdisciplinary board meetings
  • joint reflection in teams
  • supervision with a psychologist every 14 days
  • use of simulation as an integrated part of competence development – both in formal programs and as part of everyday learning

The 7 core concepts of excellent nursing and Sygehus Lillebælt’s promises are part of our common professional language and culture and form the foundation for nursing in the department.

What do we expect of you?

The most important thing for us is that you have the willingness and motivation to engage with your colleagues, actively contribute to a good working environment. You must have the ability and willingness to work constructively and consciously with your own competence development – including taking responsibility for, and committing to, working with your own learning and continually increasing your professional competence.

We value being appreciative when others do something for you, and that you also contribute to the community by doing something for others.

Can you describe yourself as

•

  • someone who thrives in a department with great variation in tasks, where nursing care of patients is in the center
  • someone who commits to the community and contributes to the development of both nursing and the work environment
  • someone who works consciously with the 7 core concepts of excellent nursing and Sygehus Lillebælt’s promises
  • someone who uses your professional knowledge to be calm, decisive and collaborative in acute and complex situations

  • stable and robust in a 24-hour staffed ward, where we lift the tasks together
  • friendly, smiling and professional in meetings with patients and relatives and contributing to a proper, respectful and friendly tone

Then it could well be you we want as a colleague.
