About the job

Based on the 10-year plan for psychiatry, we are increasing staffing with a nursing position.

Hear a little from a future colleague

“It is a pleasure to be in a workplace with engaged colleagues, who both prioritise professional discussions and social interactions. There is always room for questions and good laughs.” – Medarbejder i Ældrepsykiatrisk team

Does that sound like a workplace for you? Then read on!

Welcome inside to the Geriatric Psychiatric Team

You will become part of our geriatric psychiatric team, which treats patients over 70 with psychiatric disorders in the catchment area. In addition, we have a regional function, i.e. you will treat patients with dementia and severe behavioral disorders who are under 70 years old, residing in the Region of Hovedstaden.

You will be a colleague to a multidisciplinary staff group consisting of nurses, consultants, a psychologist, a social worker and a secretary. You will meet our patients in the outpatient clinic in Glostrup, in the patients’ own homes and at nursing homes in our catchment area.

Your everyday life and your tasks

As a nurse you will perform geriatric psychiatric nursing at a high professional level. We place a high value on influence and independent work, while sparring with colleagues is an important part of everyday life.

Your primary tasks

  • Be a contact person for patients in their own homes or at nursing homes
  • Follow-up on medical treatment
  • Education and guidance for patients, relatives and care staff
  • Contribute to psychiatric care initiatives
  • Join a on-call team - You will also be part of the Geriatric Psychiatric Ward with shifts every 6th weekend.

We work according to F-ACT (flexible outreach and outreach treatment in the local environment), which is a method for outpatient psychiatric care that has a flexible approach to patients based on where they are in their illness trajectory.

Your qualifications

We are looking for an engaged team player with an interest in geriatric psychiatry. You may have experience in psychiatry, geriatrics, neurology or dementia.

We would like you to nod in recognition of the following

  • You work independently and in a structured way and have an overview in a dynamic environment
  • You are skilled at communicating complex issues to patients and collaboration partners
  • You are professionally well-founded and curious to develop your competencies

With us, curiosity and new knowledge are welcomed – We offer

  • A thorough and individually tailored introduction program that takes your level of experience into account
  • Mentor scheme, where you receive support and sparring from an experienced colleague
  • Good career opportunities and opportunities for both professional and personal development
  • Participation in introductory days at our geriatric psychiatric ward
  • A workplace where curiosity, reflection and knowledge sharing are a natural part of daily life. – We hold ongoing case meetings and theme days

Your salary and terms of employment

This is a permanent full-time position. Start on December 1, 2026 or by agreement.

You will be employed under the agreement for non-management staff in the Health Cartel area with placement as a nurse. During employment you are covered by the current working hours agreement between the Regions' Pay and Tariff Board and the Danish Nurses' Organization.

As a new nurse you will be attached to a specific 24-hour unit, where you participate in on-call duty on Saturdays and Sundays every 6 weeks . We of course ensure you are well prepared for the task. This is done through an individual introduction program, knowledge sharing and sparring with colleagues. And it takes place through ongoing competence development based on your experiences and needs. We primarily collaborate with the Geriatric Psychiatric Ward.

The outpatient clinic is open during daytime hours Monday to Friday. Therefore, your working hours will primarily fall within this period. The region is a 24/7 area, and you will, if necessary, be scheduled for shifts outside the clinic's opening hours in accordance with the rules of the current working time agreement.

We look forward to hearing from you!

If you find the above interesting, we are very keen to hear more about your motivation to become part of our team.
