We are seeking a nurse with psychiatric experience or with an interest in the psychiatric specialty. If you are a recent graduate, we have a special introductory program and you can be shift-free for the first months with a special mentor program. We are a ward where patient safety, professional development, team collaboration, and personal competences are crucial for the good working environment.

The position can be taken up from 1.8.2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The positions include rotating shifts, 2-shift teams and weekend shifts either every 2nd or 3rd weekend. You of course have influence on your on-call schedule so that there is balance between private and work life.

About the Psychiatric Department Aabenraa

The department consists of an Emergency Psychiatric Department, which receives patients around the clock. In addition, there are 95 beds distributed among an elderly psychiatric ward and 5 general psychiatric wards. The distribution of patients is geographically determined.

In Haderslev, Sønderborg, Tønder and Åbenrå lie the department's outpatient units. There is also an elderly ambulatory unit, a clinic for suicide prevention, OPUS and the Oligophrenia team.

We work targeted to prevent compulsory measures and minimize the use of restraints. This includes implementing the methods 'Safewards' and 'Trauma-Informed Approach'. There are also special initiatives regarding handling self-harming behavior.

The department's care and treatment basis is relationship-based care.

Salary and collective agreement

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the Sundhedskartellet - overenskomst 32.17.1 - løn pr. 1.4.2026 . In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience, and qualifications.
