Newly created position as a social work advisor in Social Intervention Adults

Do you want to make a very concrete difference for adult citizens who are in the midst of a major life change – and at the same time help develop a newly established function in Gribskov Municipality?

As a social-legal advisor in Social Initiatives for Adults you will be the focal point for citizens without a network when they need to move into an accessible accommodation or a care home, and need support in economy, law and practical tasks in the moving process.

You are not hired to administer statutes. You are hired to make them usable for people. With us it is the person – not the case – that is the focus.

We work with young and adult with disabilities, mental disorders and complex social challenges. It requires high professionalism, good relationships and the courage to think across. And it requires that we do not stand alone.

Your daily workplace will be Social Initiatives for Adults in the Center for Employment and Social at Østergade 62 in 3200 Helsinge – in a strong, multidisciplinary environment that encompasses the entire specialized adult area. In daily work we collaborate closely with both the employment area but also the health and care sector.

Everyday life in Social Initiatives for Adults and cross-disciplinary collaboration

You will become part of the Center for Employment and Social, which includes the employment area, benefits department, residential care homes and the specialized social area in the adult sector

In daily life there is a good atmosphere, we laugh together, and although we have a busy day, we prioritize the social, for example by eating lunch together. You will sit in an open-plan office with zone division, so there is room for sparring, closeness to colleagues and space for deep focus.

You will be part of a team where we see ourselves as teammates for each other. In the team we have a common task, and we expect you to contribute to daily operations and to the professional development of the area, among other things when we jointly adjust workflows and find new ways to help citizens even better. Possibility of teleworking provides flexibility in planning your tasks and your everyday life.

Your key competencies as a social-legal advisor

• You are a social worker or social mediator
• You have solid experience within the social field, preferably with adult citizens with mental disorders, disabilities and social problems
• You have knowledge of housing allowance legislation, pensions, guardianship, housing deposits, aids, etc. – and preferably experience with finance, rates and the juridical part regarding contracts
• You have strong multidisciplinary understanding and thrive in cross-sector collaboration across authority, operations, benefits and other relevant actors
• You can navigate complex cases and tight deadlines while maintaining overview and proper dialogue with the citizen
• You have good communication and collaboration skills – both written and spoken and are a team player who takes joint responsibility for the collective task solving

Your central tasks in citizens' moving process

The purpose of your role is to ensure that citizens without networks receive the necessary support for financial, legal and practical tasks in connection with moving into accessible housing or a care home – across the Center for Social and Care (CSO) and Center for Employment and Social (CBS).

You will get a broad task portfolio, including you will work with

Economy and benefits

• Application for deposit loans
• Application for housing benefits
• Application for personal allowances / single benefits
• Establishing and following up on repayment arrangements in collaboration with Invoicing
• Collaboration with Benefits Team on administration cases (rent, medicine, service packages etc.)
• Help with setting up PBS agreements
• Delivery of invoices for payment with the citizen's consent
• Application for heating allowance, health allowance and exemption from digital post

Housing, moving process and special tasks

• Signature of lease contract and termination of previous housing
• Home visits and help marking furniture, including decision on remaining furnishings
• Obtain moving quotes and book moving company as well as apply for moving grant
• Delivery of keys and address change
• Contact with lawyer in case of housing sale, if relevant
• Coordination with care center and housing association, including move-in inspection and reception of the tenancy
• Assessment of need for guardianship
• Early notification of new care home cases and special attention to citizens who are exempt from digital post
• Guidance to spouse about financial possibilities when moving

The position is 37 hours with commencement on 1 January 2027.

Employment is made in accordance with applicable collective agreement.
