About the job
Try to imagine this…
It is morning, and the day has just begun.
You enter a resident who needs a calm start. You support the morning routines with a focus on structure, participation and independence – and you adapt along the way so it makes sense for the resident.
Later you are outdoor – perhaps a walk in the forest or an activity in the sensory garden. You work purposefully with senses, activity and energy, and you continuously adjust so the resident can participate on their own terms.
Throughout the day you take part in both everyday situations and planned interventions: meals, activities and breaks. You observe function, well-being and resources and translate your observations into concrete adjustments in daily life.
Together with colleagues you share knowledge and document, so the effort hangs together and the resident’s level of function is maintained and developed as best as possible.
It’s an ordinary day – but an important day.
For you it is a day where your professionalism is evident in the way you adapt activities and frameworks along the way, so they support the resident’s well-being, function and needs.
For the resident, your effort means more participation, greater independence and better coping and meaning in everyday life.
We have resident intake at Skovbo East and are therefore looking for more skilled occupational therapists - is that you?
Who are we at Skovbo?
We are a specialized offering for adult residents with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders, who need a structured and recognizable everyday life. We base our approach on the individual resident’s needs, pace and interests and prioritize time and presence so we can build relationships that make a difference.
Our pedagogical approach is based on structure and predictability, and we work with the approaches Gentle Teaching Nordic, Low Arousal and neuro-pedagogy. In addition we use visual support and sensory integration to create clear and meaningful everyday life.
We place emphasis on professional development and methodological curiosity. Collegial sparring and supervision across professional groups are a fixed part of daily life, and it creates a strong professional environment where we continuously develop our practice.
Nature-close surroundings that provide calm and pedagogical possibilities
We are located in an area with forest and fjord nearby. Our outdoor areas provide good conditions for calm, activity and sensory experiences. Nature is actively used in our pedagogy for walks and cycling, breaks or as a quiet place to retreat to. Our sensory garden provides opportunities to work with the senses through aromas, sounds and textures in a manageable outdoor space.
Your tasks
As an occupational therapist with us you become a key person in the work with the residents’ well-being, functional ability and participation opportunities. You will have a central role in both the interdisciplinary collaboration and in the development of the residents’ daily life.

- Plan, carry out and evaluate pedagogical courses tailored to the individual resident’s needs
- Work in a structured way with professional methods such as Gentle Teaching, neuro-pedagogy, visualization, low arousal, relational pedagogy and other relevant approaches
