About the job

We are looking for two colleagues who would like to work as primary providers in our F-ACT team in the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic Gladsaxe. We would like to hire an occupational therapist for the Gladsaxe-Furesø team and one for the Gentofte-Lyngby team.

Weekdays and tasks

We work based on the F-ACT model, which means that our treatment offerings are flexible and provide the opportunity to offer outreach treatment in the patients' homes or local area.

With a focus on high quality you will work closely with all agencies around the patient. This includes across sectors, across professions and the patient's relatives. We also collaborate with the patients' municipal support-contact persons.

You will be the primary provider for a number of patients, where you will have the opportunity to use your occupational therapy competencies in a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, social workers, recovery mentors and doctors. On par with your other colleagues you will hold outpatient conversations, make home visits and visit the patient during hospitalisation.

As an occupational therapist in a F-ACT team you will work with patients with many different issues. You will have a unique opportunity to build trusting relationships and to gain an understanding of what motivates each patient. You have an eye for small progress and are able to acknowledge and create motivation through the small victories, which are crucial for a good treatment course.

We work with a cognitive and recovery-oriented perspective. This means that you will, for example, work with crisis plans, weekly plans, weighting products and substance use treatment. Part of the work involves motivation through relationship-building, as patients have very different needs requiring extra creativity and flexibility; some of our patients are vulnerable and have a highly affected level of function.

You participate in multidisciplinary discussions and treatment conferences, where you bring your mono-disciplinary competences into play.

A little about us and what we can offer

We are a well-functioning outpatient department consisting of a multidisciplinary staff group. The outpatient department consists of three teams; namely the Gladsaxe-Furesø team, the Gentofte-Lyngby team and a team for patients residing in a residential facility.

We are known for our engagement and make a special effort for our patients and the common well-being every day. We hold groups across the outpatient department. We have an informal tone and a humorous everyday life, where we willingly help across teams when needed.

You have great influence on planning your workday, but we help each other and have a shared caseload.

We have weekly multidisciplinary treatment conferences and daily board meetings. We have supervision every 4 weeks.

In your onboarding period there will be ample time for introduction to become familiar with the FACT model, daily work and routines. You will be paired with an experienced colleague/mentor and will have the opportunity to attend the course ‘Getting on the Right Track in Psychiatry’ if you are new to working with psychiatry in the Capital Region of Denmark.

We equip you to work in a patient-involving and de-escalating manner.

We also offer a mono-disciplinary network across the centre.

About you

You are a qualified occupational therapist with experience in the psychiatric field. You have knowledge of cognitive methods and preferably experience in recovery-oriented work. You are especially interested in working with vulnerable and disadvantaged patients.

We expect the following of our new colleague

  • have good collaboration skills and a desire to develop professionally and personally
  • have knowledge of psychiatry
  • see the patient’s resources
  • enjoy working independently with patients in their homes
  • are good at sharing knowledge and seeking sparring
  • are engaged in our multidisciplinary perspective
  • are interested in patients with vulnerability and difficult social problems

The position involves outreach work and therefore requires a driving licence.

Salary and employment terms

Start date 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

The position is 37 hours per week.

You are employed in accordance with the agreements for non-leading occupational therapists, physiotherapists and midwives. You are during employment covered by the current working hours agreement entered into between the Regions’ Payroll and Rate Board and the Danish Occupational Therapy Association.

The outpatient department is currently open Monday to Friday 08.00-16.00. Your working hours will therefore primarily fall within this timeframe.

The region is a 24-hour area, and you will, according to concrete need, be scheduled for shifts outside the outpatient department’s opening hours in accordance with the rules of the applicable working hours agreement..
