About the job

Would you like to become the financially administrative backbone of a secretariat that works for children and young people across the entire municipality?

As a Financial-Administrative Employee in the Secretariat for Children and Youth, you will play a central role in an area of great importance for families in Gribskov Municipality. You will have both fixed areas of responsibility and varied tasks where your structured approach and your interest in finance, numbers and systems will really come into play.

With us you become part of a strong community

With us you will have a working day in an open and informal office environment with a view of fields and woods – and with colleagues who help each other and are happy to share knowledge and experiences. We prioritise both professional quality and good relationships, and we are focused on creating coherence for children, young people and families across the entire Children and Youth area.

You will become part of the Secretariat for Children and Youth with about 18 colleagues with different professional backgrounds – administrative staff, consultants and professional specialists. You will join our administrative group together with four colleagues and often also a trainee and an apprentice, where you together support tasks across the entire 0-18 year age range.

With us you get

  • a strong collegiality where we help each other and listen to each other’s opinions and ideas
  • a daily life with both fixed and changing tasks
  • opportunity to take responsibility and influence how tasks are solved
  • insight into the entire children and youth area

With us you succeed when you enjoy working in a structured way and keeping track of several simultaneous tasks and deadlines, taking responsibility for progress and following up on tasks to completion, and when you want to actively contribute to cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Your key competencies

To succeed in the position we would like you to recognise yourself in several of these points:

  • You have a flair for working with numbers, data and finance
  • You have good knowledge of the Finance Program (we use Opus), Excel and the rest of the Office package and you easily acquaint yourself with new IT systems
  • You have knowledge of the Forvaltningsloven (Public Administration Act) and are used to working with public administration
  • You have the desire and courage for citizen contact
  • You thrive in cross-disciplinary collaboration and can communicate clearly with colleagues and partners
  • You are curious about digitalisation and see opportunities to develop and improve working processes

We expect that you have an administrative education, for example a professional bachelor or an office education within public administration focusing on economics and have 3-5 years of experience from, for example, a municipality, region or state, or in some other way have gained knowledge of the municipal children and youth area.

Your central tasks

You will have independent responsibility for a number of financially administrative tasks, where you both operate, develop and ensure quality.

One of your special areas of responsibility will be the municipality’s student transport – including school buses and taxi transport for pupils with special needs. You will work with follow-up, development and implementation of workflows around student transport and contribute to analyses and collaboration with suppliers. Here you will be a key player in ensuring that finance, practice and the citizens’ needs fit well together.

You will contribute financial-administrative competencies to the secretariat and bring your knowledge into relevant tasks. For example, calculating and deciding on co-payments, and close collaboration with the municipality’s financial function on handling invoices, inter-municipal invoicing and updating service catalogs.

In addition, you will be part of our common administrative tasks, which we rotate to handle. This could include handling citizen inquiries for the centre, ordering transport and other tasks that ensure good and smooth service for both citizens and colleagues.

That is what makes this workplace special

You will become part of a well-functioning secretariat with both shared tasks and independent task responsibility, where we have great trust that you can and will take responsibility. The Secretariat for Children and Youth supports the entire municipal children and youth area – from the social children and youth area to health visiting, to school, day care, PPR and educational guidance.

We work from a shared view of children and youths, where collaboration, wholeness and professional quality are at the centre. Together with our Children and Youth Policy, it constitutes the foundation for our work – and you will have the opportunity to help translate it into concrete practice in daily life.

We offer flexible working hours and good opportunities to work from home one to two days a week once you have become well established in the tasks. With us you have great influence over your tasks and how you structure your workday. At the same time you have colleagues who are focused on both professional development and well-being, and a manager who is happy to spar with you and give room for you to develop in the position, and who expects you to contribute with your knowledge and ideas for ongoing improvements in task solving.
