About the job
Would you like to help make a difference for some of Denmark's most vulnerable young people about our core task:
“Children and young people at Egely experience a safe and content-rich everyday life with reliable adults”
We are now seeking colleagues - ideally with experience in the children's field and working with de-escalating and mentalising methods in our secure and highly secure unit.
We ensure thorough introduction, mentor scheme and on-call shifts in practical collaboration with experienced colleagues in the daily operations of the departments, so you are equipped with tools, methods and workflows before you take on the tasks.
If this sounds like something you would like, hurry to send an application – we look forward to talking with you, and we invite applications to interviews on an ongoing basis.
Egely – in brief
Egely is Region of Southern Denmark's secure 24-hour institution for young people aged 12 to 17 who are placed on legal or social grounds. We have a total of 20 places, of which 5 are in the highly secure department. There are about 60 young people enrolled per year. Currently we have 2 open departments with a total of 10 places.
We employ around 80 staff – primarily pedagogical staff in the living units, but also psychologists, health professionals, social workers, teachers and other professionals.
The young people we work with often have complex challenges with externalising behaviour, crime, substance misuse or psychiatric issues.
Our most important task is to help the young people find calm and stability so they can develop new life strategies and take steps toward a better future.
All children and young people at Egely are offered teaching or day activity in our internal education house, and have their everyday and leisure lives in a living unit with four other children and young people.
The young people are often placed on the basis of complex social, psychiatry-related and behavioural challenges such as externalising or criminal behaviour, substance misuse and other comorbid challenges.
Your tasks
As a care assistant at Egely you will have a meaningful and challenging everyday life, where you:
- Identify and translate pedagogical goals from internship and learning placements and motivate to initiate and support the pedagogical activities and agreed interventions.
- Contribute with your own professional competencies to the holistic offering and team collaboration about and with children and young people.
- Carry out targeted communication and reflect on the importance of communication in relation to the prerequisites of children and young people and the agreed strategies and interventions.
- Document pedagogical work and cross-disciplinary agreed interventions with and about the child and the young person.
- Plan activities and social interactions with regard to the overall young group’s prerequisites and needs – including considering the need for differentiated frameworks and support.
We are looking for someone who can
- Test, build experience and work according to the professionally prepared approaches and interventions from the professional team and the regulatory framework in the offering.
- Establish positive collaborative relationships with children, young people and actors in their lives and their offerings.
- Work loyally with the implementation of the professional tools and methods that have been brought from courses and educational programs and agreed within the team.
- Document, share knowledge and act on experiences and arising needs and tasks in the offerings and lives of children and young people.
- Bring reflections, experiential learning and knowledge into the professional team.
- Bring competencies and professional knowledge from one’s own education and experience into play in the team’s and everyday collaboration, collegially and in the offering to children and young people.
What you get with us
- A workplace with high professionalism in cross-disciplinary teams, where you can leave your mark on development and culture.
- Thorough introduction and mentor scheme.
- An education plan which among other things includes courses within LA2 and SIKK during the first years of employment.
