About the job

Do you want to create the best conditions for people in a complex and dynamic daily life?

At our largest bus facility with about 350 drivers attached, located at Jernholmen in Hvidovre, we are looking for an experienced and people-oriented operations manager. We are seeking you who are motivated by working with people, creating structure in a busy daily life and ensuring that our employees feel seen, heard and supported.

You will play a central role in the daily management of our employees and become an important sparring partner for both drivers, operations management and elected representatives. At the same time you will act as deputy for the regional manager and must be able to maintain an overview, make decisions and ensure continued stable operation when necessary. We already have two operations managers at Jernholmen, and you will complete the team as the third.

Your role

As operations manager your main task is to create the best conditions for your colleagues to succeed in their work. You thrive among many people and gain energy from dialogue, collaboration and the challenges that naturally arise in a 24/7 operation.

You understand that good leadership is about both clarity and presence, and you are not afraid to take the difficult conversation – but you do it with respect and with a focus on development.

Your primary tasks

  • Follow-up on employees' well-being, behavior, attendance and performance.
  • Carrying out employee appraisals and development programs.
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and retention of employees.
  • Close collaboration with union representatives and the occupational health and safety organization.
  • Ensure that collective agreements, local agreements and internal guidelines are followed.
  • Participate in planning and staffing with a focus on both operations and employee considerations.
  • Work data-driven with follow-up on key figures such as absence, overtime, productivity and employee development.
  • Act as deputy for the regional manager and contribute to ensuring the overall operation at the facility.

We imagine that you

  • Have experience in personnel management and employee development.
  • Thrive in an environment with many daily interactions and high activity.
  • Are naturally interested in people and motivated by helping others to succeed.
  • Have experience with scheduling, shift planning or other staffing management.
  • Can translate data and facts into concrete actions and decisions.
  • Are robust and keep calm, even when everyday life changes quickly.

About you

  • You are a people-oriented leader who can build relationships, foster trust and still set expectations.
  • You understand that employees perform best when they experience engaged leadership, clear expectations and fair treatment.
  • You have a strong overview and can lift your gaze from the individual situation to ensure the overall operation functions.
  • You are able to balance the business and employee interests and can make decisions that support both.
  • You have documented leadership experience.
  • You can communicate fluently in Danish in writing and speech.
  • Industry experience is by no means a requirement. While industry experience is an advantage, the most important is your desire for and experience in leadership.
