About the job

Do you want to lead a strong group of bioanalysts and help develop the diagnostics of the future?

The Molecular Medical Department (MOMA) is seeking a committed and development‑oriented senior bioanalyst who, together with the department's other management, will take responsibility for daily operations and the continued development of a high‑tech department in growth.

MOMA works at the intersection of diagnostics, research and personalized medicine. We perform advanced molecular diagnostics based on, among other things, DNA and RNA sequencing and continually work on implementing new technologies and diagnostic possibilities.

Your role as senior bioanalyst

As the senior bioanalyst you will have formal supervisory responsibility for the part of the bioanalyst group that currently consists of 30 bioanalysts and laboratory technicians. You report to the department management and will play a central role in MOMA's leadership circle together with the department's five functional heads.

This means that you both have a clear leadership responsibility for the bioanalyst group and shared responsibility for MOMA as a whole department. In the leadership circle you contribute to common priorities and decisions on operations, development, resources and organization across the department.

The bioanalyst group is organized into four teams, each with its own team coordinator. The team coordinators drive daily operations and help create an overview of tasks, staffing and competencies. As the senior bioanalyst you set direction and framework for the team coordinators’ work and support them in their role.

Therefore you must be able to lead both directly and through others – and at the same time be a strong partner for the functional heads and the departmental management.

You must be able to combine secure operations with development. This means that you must have an eye for daily task execution, employees’ well-being and competencies and for how we organize ourselves as technology, diagnostics and the department's tasks evolve.

You will have special responsibility for

  • personnel leadership, well-being and development of the bioanalyst group
  • development of the bioanalysts’ competencies and professional opportunities
  • planning, prioritization and ongoing development of the bioanalyst group’s resources and competencies in collaboration with the four team coordinators
  • development and support of the four team coordinators
  • organization and collaboration across the bioanalyst group
  • recruitment and long‑term competence and capacity planning
  • a good working environment and a strong sense of community.

As a member of the functional leadership circle you shall

  • contribute to the overall leadership and development of MOMA
  • collaborate with the five functional heads on operations, resources and priorities
  • contribute to ensuring that employee resources and competencies are used as effectively as possible across the organization
  • support the implementation of new analyses, technologies and workflows
  • contribute to the development of the organization and work processes
  • help ensure a robust quality and improvement culture in the bioanalyst group
  • participate in translating the department's strategy and priorities into daily actions.

Who are you?

We are looking for a bioanalyst with leadership experience and a desire to lead people in a complex and highly specialized organization.

We particularly value that you

  • are a clear, present and trust-based leader
  • can provide direction while giving employees responsibility and room to succeed
  • have organizational understanding and can maintain an overview in a complex daily life
  • can prioritize and make decisions, even when many considerations must be balanced
  • are interested in developing both people, the organization and diagnostics
  • can handle disagreements and conflicts respectfully and constructively, and dare to have difficult conversations when necessary
  • work constructively across specializations and professions
  • communicate openly and clearly
  • are curious and development-oriented, see new opportunities and have the courage to constructively challenge conventional thinking
  • actively contribute to a culture characterized by collaboration, professionalism and mutual respect.

Experience with molecular diagnostics, accredited laboratories or high‑tech laboratory environments is an advantage. The decisive factor, however, is that you have strong leadership and collaboration skills and motivation to develop both people and the organization. A leadership qualification is an advantage.

About MOMA

MOMA is a cross-disciplinary department where bioanalysts, doctors, molecular biologists, molecular medicine specialists, bioinformaticians, software developers and researchers work closely together. The department handles extensive molecular diagnostics for the Central Region of Denmark (Region Midtjylland) and, in several areas, for patients from across Denmark. At the same time, we have significant research and development activity.

New technologies and new diagnostic possibilities mean that our tasks are continually changing. Therefore we need a senior bioanalyst who can both ensure stability in daily operations and help shape the organization we will be in the future.

Would you like to help lead and develop the people who shape the diagnostics of the future? Then we look forward to hearing from you.

For further information about the position, contact Chief Academic Officer Anne Charlotte Jäger at phone 7190 3991 or Chief Physician Ole Halfdan Larsen at phone 7845 5300.

Starting 1 February 2027. We are flexible regarding the starting date, and a later start can be arranged.

Application deadline is 16 November 2026. Interviews are expected to be held in week 48.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditional on a satisfactory child‑care clearance and a satisfactory authorization.

The position is, as a rule, a full-time position.

As Region Midtjylland continuously implements savings and reorganizations, employees in redeployment who apply for the position will have priority.

Region Midtjylland is, in accordance with the EU directive on wage transparency, which came into effect on June 7, 2026, obliged to inform you of the starting salary or a salary range for a position before offering employment.
