About the job

Are you passionate about a good childhood, early intervention and a strong parent collaboration? And do you thrive in a daily life where no day is ever the same? Then maybe it's you we're looking for!

We are seeking an engaged and present staff member for an 8-month maternity leave cover as a floater in our nursery at the Himmelblå Daycare Institution. The position is from December 1, 2026 to July 31, 2027.

The Himmelblå Daycare Institution consists of two departments – Mælkevejen and Nordlyset – located about 600 meters apart. We are a 0-6 year institution in Glostrup that has undergone rapid development, and we are now seeking a staff member who will help drive it further.

As a floater in the nursery you will become an important part of our daily life. You should be able to step in across the rooms where the need arises, and help create safe, present and developmentally stimulating environments for the children. You will become part of a strong work community where we help each other and lift as a team.

We need engaged and professionally curious staff who focus on the core task: the children's well-being, development, learning and formation. We are proud of the development we have created, and look forward to welcoming a new colleague into our community.

At Himmelblå there is plenty of heart here, positive energy, presence and professional pride. In our approach to children, parents and each other we place high value on integrity and close collaboration.

Relational work is our foundation, and we continually work to develop it. The impact on the children is the most important goal of our effort.

Our values and strengths

We work from a resource-oriented and systemic perspective, where we focus on both children's and parents' strengths and actively involve them in creating the best possible childhood.

We highly value presence to create caring, developmental and guiding relationships with the children. At the same time we persistently work to develop our professional culture through ongoing evaluation.

Perseverance for us means that we go the extra mile to create positive relationships with all children and parents.

We have particular competencies in relational work, language development initiatives, working with children and families in vulnerable positions, and parental collaboration.

We are professionally brave and dare to be curious and critical of our own practice. We work among other things with TOPI, ICDP and Sprogtrappen. Our goal is to ensure equal opportunities for all children, which sets high demands on our pedagogical practice.

Everyone has a voice here. We expect you to be able to take initiative and give space to others. It is important that we can reflect on each other's practice and ask questions – both when we are inspired and when we wonder.

Who are you?

You don't have to know everything – but you must be able to do the most essential thing.

Your personality and your view of children are decisive for us. Therefore we invite both newly trained and experienced educators as well as pedagogical assistants to apply.

We place emphasis on you

Can see and work with children's competencies and resources.

Takes the children's perspective as a starting point.

Creates presence and secure relationships.

Is strong in relationship work.

Is flexible and thrives in a varied daily routine.

Can take responsibility and quickly build good relationships with both children and colleagues.

Wants to be an active part of a shared work community.

We offer

Professionally competent and ambitious colleagues with high capacity for reflection.

A workplace with a positive and inclusive culture.

A strong work community focused on the core task.

A varied daily life where you will have the opportunity to work with different groups of children.

Good opportunities for professional development and sparring.

Interdisciplinary collaboration around children and families in vulnerable positions.

A diverse group of children and strong child communities.

A stable and experienced staff team with room for new colleagues.

You are very welcome to visit us. We are confident you will want to apply once you have visited – with us professional excellence and job satisfaction go hand in hand.

Employment period: December 1, 2026 – July 31, 2027 (8 months maternity leave).

Application deadline: November 20, 2026.

We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis.

If you have questions, you are welcome to contact the pedagogical leader in Nordlyset, Michella Johannis, at telephone 29 39 91 05.
