Who are we?

Toftelund Kindergarten is a small kindergarten with 65 units distributed over three rooms accommodating both toddler and kindergarten children. We are located in scenic surroundings in Græse Bakkeby, a little outside Frederikssund town centre, with the school and Børnehuset Højvang as neighbours and good partners.

We are 11 permanent employees and a manager. In each room there are as a rule two pedagogues and a PA/assistant. In addition, we have a floating staff member across the building and a group of fixed substitutes.

Many of us have worked together for many years, and we have a strong collegial culture where we help each other, laugh together and value job satisfaction highly. But we are certainly not a house where we do things just because we always have. We are curious about new ideas and look forward to welcoming a new colleague.

And of course we have the sweetest children and an engaged and supportive parent group.

Our pedagogical everyday life

In Toftelund we are focused on developing our pedagogical practice. We continuously adjust our learning environments according to the children's needs, follow the children’s cues and are curious about how we can make things even better.

Right now we have a particular focus on play, both in small groups and through joint play on the playground, where adults are active participants.

Our view of children is important to us. We believe that children do the best they can and that no child has ill intentions. When something is difficult, it is our task as adults to be curious about what the child is trying to tell us.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an educator who

• Is present, relationally strong and meets children with warmth and curiosity.
• Has an affirming view of children and puts children's well-being first.
• Can contribute with professional sparring and reflection in the staff group.
• Can take responsibility and be the lead on children's matters.
• Values cooperation with parents and cross-disciplinary partners highly.
• Wants to contribute to our good collegiality and dares to bring new ideas into play.
• Is an active part of the children's play and everyday life.

You don’t need to know it all from the start, but we hope you are curious and eager to learn together with us.
