About the job

Do you want a job where relationships, professionalism and a view of people are at the core?

With us you get a daily life where you are close to the patients, where your pedagogical approach makes a real difference – and where you are part of a strong community.

We are looking for a pedagogical worker in a one-year temporary position for the Forensic Psychiatry in Slagelse – and maybe it’s you we’re missing.

A meaningful everyday

In the forensic psychiatry, we work with people who often find themselves in some of the most complex life situations.

Our patients are admitted under a legal proceeding, and for many the admission is long-term. It gives you the opportunity to work in depth with relationships, development and change over time.

You contribute to

  • creating structure and predictability in daily life
  • supporting the patient’s development and recovery
  • working with meaningful activities and social communities

Daily life can be unpredictable – but it also offers the possibility to make a difference where it really matters.

It happens in the relationships

A large part of the work takes place in situations that cannot be planned

  • In the environment, where relationships develop in everyday life
  • In conversations, where trust and reflection are created
  • In activities, where community and development have space

As a pedagogical worker you help create the common third – something that gives meaning to the patient and opens up contact and development.

We work recovery-oriented with a focus on relationship, structure and patient involvement – and with a common goal of preventing conflicts and coercion.

An job with both responsibility, influence and development opportunities

In forensic psychiatry we work in a field where we must take care of both the patient and the societal task.

As a pedagogical worker you contribute with

  • relational and pedagogical understanding
  • structure and milieu therapy
  • activities that support development
  • awareness of each person’s possibilities

With us you are never alone

You will become part of a strong interdisciplinary community including social and health assistants, nurses, doctors and social workers.

Your pedagogical expertise is an important part of the interdisciplinary effort and helps create structure, development and meaningful activities for the patients.

Together

  • we plan and follow patient pathways
  • we actively use each other’s professional skills
  • we create a daily life with both professionalism and job satisfaction

At the same time you get the opportunity to influence both daily life and the professional development in the ward.

You will be well prepared

The forensic psychiatry is a special specialty – and we take that seriously.

With us you get

  • a fixed introduction program
  • a mentor in the initial period
  • safety course and ongoing maintenance training
  • work in fixed teams around the patients
  • opportunity for competence development and professional specialization

Safety is an important part of the work – and something we work on systematically and in collaboration.

Who are you

You are a trained pedagogical worker and you want to work with people in complex trajectories.

Experience from psychiatry, social psychiatry or forensic psychiatry is an advantage, but not a requirement.

The most important is that you

  • are curious and engaged
  • focus on relationship work
  • can create structure and calm in daily life
  • thrive in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • contribute to a safe and positive work environment

We place emphasis on your professional skills – but equally on your approach to people.

A workplace with multiple opportunities

The forensic psychiatry in Slagelse consists of several inpatient wards that work closely together.

You are employed in the department and attached to the ward that best matches your competences and wishes. At the same time you will have the opportunity to work across wards and develop your competences.

We emphasize matching your interests and competences with the ward’s needs so you get the best possibilities to thrive and develop in the job.
