About the job

Do you want to help create a new everyday life – and help keep us on track?

Are you thriving in change processes, professionally curious, and motivated by helping people succeed together?

Then maybe you are the one we are looking for.

Kålormen is an integrated early years institution on Nørrebro in Copenhagen, and we are facing a major change. We will establish new age-integrated groups, and we have decided that on each room there should be seven toddlers and seven preschool children. This gives us the opportunity to create smaller communities where children can develop and form relationships across ages.

We have now hired a new pedagogical leader, who starts on 1 December 2026. Together with the new leader, our current staff and new colleagues, we will develop the pedagogical practice and create a daily life where children, parents and staff experience clarity, safety and the possibility to succeed. Therefore we are looking for you who both want to be close to the children and take a special responsibility for the professional development and the working together we must create.

As team coordinator you have a special role

As team coordinator you are first and foremost a pedagogue. You must be close to the children and the pedagogical practice, but you also have a special task to support your colleagues and the shared professional direction. You will help translate the decisions we make into something tangible in everyday life. This means, among other things, that you must be able to take initiative, create an overview and hold to agreements.

You must be able to ask the questions that make us wiser, and help create followership when we need to do something in a new way. You do not need to have all the answers. But you should be willing to ask good questions, create dialogue and help us find the answers together.

Collegial leadership – without personnel responsibility

You do not have personnel responsibility, but you have an important role in the professional working community. We need someone who can stand on their professional stance while being genuinely curious about others' perspectives. Someone who can give feedback in a proper way, receive feedback themselves and help create a culture where we dare to look at our own practice.

You will be an important ally for your colleagues and the pedagogical leader. Together you must hold fast to our common direction and notice when something needs to be adjusted. It requires both courage, clarity and relational understanding.

Our behavior cards give us a common language

In Nord Klynge E we have a strong focus on the working community. As part of that, we work with behavior cards that give us a common language for the professional conduct we want to see in our work community.

We initially work with six cards: The Metronome, the Balance Buff, the Co-Pilot, Kindness, the Fueler and the Competence Swapper. The cards help us name different aspects of what it takes to succeed together.

  • The Metronome reminds us of the importance of recognizability, rhythm and shared structure. We believe that children need adults who create a safe and predictable daily life, because it provides good conditions for mastery and development.
  • The Co-Pilot helps us see ourselves and each other from the outside. Where do we come from? Where are we? And where are we going? It’s about being able to lift our gaze from the individual situation and be curious about what it takes to move forward.
  • The Competence Swapper is about becoming more skilled when we share our knowledge and learn from each other. We do not all need to know the same, but we all contribute to the community and are willing to both give and receive.
  • The Balance Buff is about all of us contributing to the community. We usually say that everyone should bring a little more to the buffet than they take themselves. Some bring the remoulade, others the pie, the salad or the bread. The essential thing is that together we create a surplus community, where there is something to give on to others.
  • The Fueler makes us aware of how we take care of the mind we use during the day. We know it takes energy to be part of a large change process. Therefore we help each other take care of ourselves and each other, because adults with surplus create better development space for the children. It does not mean every day must be easy. It means we should be able to talk about what is difficult, ask for help, give each other space and take responsibility for our shared working life.
  • Kindness is part of everything we do. We treat each other nicely and are curious about what we ourselves do, and what others bring into play. We speak kindly to each other – even when we disagree. For us, kindness is not the same as agreeing – it is the way we disagree.

We use the cards as a shared language to examine our practice, talk about our behavior and give each other feedback. As team coordinator you get a special opportunity to bring this shared language into play in everyday life.

We are underway – and you do not need to be finished

We know that a major change process contains both opportunities and challenges. Therefore we are not looking for a team coordinator who arrives with the finished solution.

We are looking for you who want to help find it. You must be able to maintain a common direction, even when it becomes complex. You must be curious about what does not work, without losing sight of what already succeeds. And you must be able to help create safety in the change – for both children and colleagues.

Who do we hope you are?

You are a trained pedagogue and have a solid professional foundation.

You are focused on children, relationships and communities, and you can see behind the children’s behavior and are curious about what the child is trying to tell us.

You can translate pedagogical knowledge into action and have a sense for how structure, organization and clear adults create better conditions for the children.

You want to take responsibility for both your own practice and for the shared practice.

You can create followership through dialogue rather than checklists.

And you have the courage to be the one who sometimes says: Shall we take a look at this together?

What you get with us

You get the opportunity to have real influence on a major pedagogical development.

You get a close collaborative relationship with the pedagogical leader and the other team coordinators, as well as the opportunity for ongoing sparring and reflection.

You become part of a working community where we are in the process of creating something new, and where your professional perspective is important.

You do not need to know everything from the start, but we expect you to want to learn, take responsibility and contribute to us succeeding together.

Maybe it’s you we’re missing?

If you can see yourself in a role where you are both close to the children and have the opportunity to set the professional direction together with your colleagues, we would love to hear from you.

Kålormen is facing a new beginning – perhaps you should help create it?

Salary and employment terms

The positions are 37 hours per week with a start date of 1 January 2027 and preferably earlier.
