Pedagogical assistant wanted for nursery

Would you like to be part of a particularly dedicated and engaged staff group, who place Rudolf Steiner pedagogy high in the work with the children? Then we have the job for you, and you do not need to be educated in Rudolf Steiner – we only expect that you are willing to learn new things and be open to our pedagogy. It is also a requirement that you have the opportunity to work with us for at least one year, to maximize continuity for the children.

We are seeking an assistant educator for our one infants group. The position is permanent at 37 hours, with start on 1 November 2026 and latest 1 December 2026. Spiren is a unified nursery house, consisting of two kindergarten groups and one infant group.

We are an anthroposophic house, and we see the child as a rhythmic, sensing and imitating being. We expect you to participate in the pedagogical and practical tasks and help provide the child with a recognizable and safe everyday life. You can do this, for example, by engaging in the house's daily rhythm and activities, which include singing games, baking, cooking, outdoor and indoor life, putting the child to rest for a nap, as well as seasonal festivities and creativity at child-friendly levels.

We spend many hours outdoors with the children all year round, and therefore you must enjoy and be prepared for outdoor life. Outdoor life is a natural part of our pedagogical work, just like singing games and adventures.

As a Steiner nursery and kindergarten we focus on

·         Rhythm and calm in daily life, which creates safe frames for children, parents and educators.

·         Imitative adults, who are conscious of their own actions, behavior and manner of speaking.

·         To see the child as a rhythmic, sensing and imitating being.

·         To see the infant- and kindergarten-time as a magical place to be a child, where there is room for the child to have time to sense and grow.

·         To create a mood-filled day with storytelling, singing and seasonal festivals.

·         To follow the cycle of the year in the forest, nature and the garden.

·         To prepare and enjoy vegetarian, organic/biodynamic food.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience in daycare/early childhood education, and that you are willing to be independent and action-oriented – both in practical work and in pedagogy.

Salary and employment terms

We offer a permanent assistant educator position starting 1/11-2026, in line with DLO & FOA’s pay terms.
