About the job

We want to create a childhood filled with warmth, play and joy of life – will you join?

We believe that children develop best in safe and loving communities, where there is room for presence, play, curiosity and plenty of laughter. Therefore, we deliberately work to create a child environment characterized by good friendships, positive and caring interactions and meaningful communities where all children feel they belong.

About the position

As an insertion pedagogue you will be an important collaborator in lifting the quality of the pedagogical practice in Mælkevejens kindergarten.

Together with your colleagues you contribute to raising and developing the child environment, where care, security and joy of life are the foundation for our work.

Our pedagogical approach is based on ICDP (International Child Development Programme) , where the relationship between child and adult is the basis for the child’s well‑being, development and learning.

You will receive a ICDP course over six months as part of your employment in Glostrup Municipality.

About the position

As an insertion pedagogue you will be attached to one fixed kindergarten room, where you have your daily starting point.

Here your main task is to support the pedagogical practice with special focus on the children who need an extra effort. You are the room’s professional key person in relation to ongoing and future child interventions and action plans which you will help anchor in everyday life. You will thus be a central actor, where you – together with your colleagues and our interdisciplinary partners – help identify children’s needs early and continue/implement interventions that strengthen their well‑being and development.

It is important for us to emphasise that the insertion pedagogue does not stand alone with the task around children in vulnerable positions or children with special needs. The effort is built on a shared pedagogical responsibility, where the whole room staff works together to create a good and developing environment for Mælkevejens children.

Your tasks

  • Be the lead on interventions around children in vulnerable positions in your attached room
  • Contribute to early detection and coordination of interventions in close collaboration with management and interdisciplinary partners.
  • Be a professional sparring partner for colleagues and contribute to reflection on the pedagogical practice.
  • Engage in close, inclusive and acknowledging collaboration with parents.
  • Contribute to creating a child life where warmth, play and joy are in focus

We are looking for someone who

  • Is a trained educator.
  • Is empathetic, warm and caring
  • Has experience with or an interest in working with children in vulnerable positions and children with special needs.
  • Has an appreciative, relation‑competent and resource‑oriented approach to children and families.
  • Works systematically with early intervention and sees value in developing the environment around the child rather than solely focusing on the child.
  • Has knowledge of or interest in working with ICDP as a shared pedagogical reference framework.
  • Can translate professional knowledge into practice and inspire colleagues through sparring and reflection.

We offer

  • A meaningful position where you have the opportunity to make a decisive difference early in the child’s life.
  • Direct attachment to one room, giving you the possibility to create continuity, strong relationships and a targeted pedagogical effort.
  • A central role as professional key person with the opportunity to influence the development of the pedagogical practice.
  • A workplace where ICDP is a shared pedagogical reference framework.
  • Good opportunities for interdisciplinary sparring
  • An engaged colleague community

Practical information

The position is 35-37 hours per week with start date by arrangement.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

Application deadline: 15 November
