Playground attendant for the staffed playground Bispeengen

Are you passionate about creating creative and inspiring activities - both indoors and outdoors? And do you love combining creativity with the magic of nature?

The staffed playground Bispeengen is a spacious playground with many different play facilities and activities for both young and old children and families. There are, among other things, a ball court, a slide, a large climbing frame, a toddler play area with sandbox and swing, green utility gardens and a campfire area. In the building you can play, play games, read and be creative.

The playground is visited by both families with children, day care providers, kindergartens, leisure institutions and schools, as well as older children who come daily. The playground staff collaborate with various actors in the local area. Weekly there is a homework café in collaboration with the Red Cross; in addition there are open creative workshops and Friday fires.

About the job

As a playground worker your most important task, in cooperation with the other staff, is to ensure that the playground is an inviting and safe place to be. Since we work in public space, we expect you to be visible, proactive and to meet children, youth, parents and other users with an acknowledging and welcoming approach.

You should contribute with your ideas, professional experiences and competencies when you together initiate diverse activities and support the projects in which the playground participates and contribute to the development of the playground's activities in accordance with local needs and the management's goals.

At the playground you will also participate in daily practical tasks such as cleaning inside and outside, shopping, administrative tasks, various meetings and maintenance tasks.

We are looking for a colleague who is not afraid to get dirt under the nails when we explore urban nature together with the children at the playground, and at the same time can inspire creative expression indoors. If you thrive in an environment where play, learning, creativity and green fingers go hand in hand, then you may be the person we are looking for.

Qualifications

• are able to interact with all kinds of people and handle many different situations
• are outgoing and happy to engage with both children, youths and adults at the playground
• are able to seize opportunities and ideas that arise during the day
• are creative and good at taking the initiative to plan, develop and start new activities
• are collaborative and willing to engage in both team collaboration and cross-disciplinary cooperation with local and municipal actors
• focus on forming and nurturing partnerships and involving volunteers in everyday work and in longer-term projects
• are familiar with IT, can work in Outlook and handle communication via Facebook
• are able to de-escalate conflicts and create safe frameworks for the area's children, youths and families, including supporting relationships and being a bridge-builder in the local area

In addition you must be independent and adaptable, as the number of users varies both during the day and seasonally.

About the staffed playgrounds

In Copenhagen there are 26 staffed playgrounds spread across the city. Here we work every day to create good experiences for big and small. The aim is to be a meeting place and a breath of fresh air for the city's residents aged 0-99, where we create safe and secure surroundings with space for free imaginative child-led play as well as planned and fun activities.

We continuously strive to decode the needs of the different user groups and support both energetic motorized movement play and calm creative activities. We offer, among other things, campfires, wildlife and nature education, role-playing, creative workshops and read-aloud sessions. We also have partnerships with local actors; libraries, day-care centers and schools, maternity groups, dementia groups and holiday camps.

We offer

We can offer a permanent position with a weekly working time of 37 hours with start as soon as possible. You will become part of a lively and versatile workplace with emphasis on high professionalism and quality in performing the work. Staffed Playgrounds generally have a lot of freedom in task-solving and thus many opportunities for developing activities and projects.

You are employed on an annual norm, where the working hours in summer and winter are adjusted to the summer and winter opening hours

You should be prepared for

• to work until the playground closes on your working days
• weekend duty every 3rd weekend
• occasional work at other staffed playgrounds
• to work alone, for example during holidays

Currently the playground’s opening hours are 09:00-17:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 09:00-18:30 on Wednesday and 10:00-17:00 on Saturday.

Terms of employment

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable agreement for pedagogical staff at municipal playgrounds in Aalhus and Copenhagen Municipality, depending on your qualifications and after negotiations with the negotiating organization LFS.

In connection with the hire we will obtain records of criminal convictions and references. Start as soon as possible.
