About the job
Can you create professional direction, raise the quality, and be at the forefront when the authority task becomes complex?
We are not looking for just an experienced authority figure. We are looking for a professional coordinator who can unite the professional knowledge, build buy-in, and take responsibility for ensuring that our case processing is of high quality, with clear direction and consistent practice.
In the Social Unit for Adults in Albertslund Municipality, you will play a central role in the department's professional leadership. You will be the person advisers can turn to with doubts, difficult assessments, and complex cases, and the one who, together with the team leader, translates ambitions of high professionalism into concrete practice.
Albertslund is a green municipality with big ambitions. We are proud of our municipality and strive in our tasks and actions for citizens, associations, and businesses. We are one municipality and one organization. We have engaged and capable employees and a collaborative culture that crosses areas and levels. This makes Albertslund Municipality a good place to work.
Your mandate and your role
As a professional coordinator you will have a clear professional role close to practice. You collaborate with the team leader, 10 advisers, and 1 matching and negotiating consultant to create direction, quality, and shared professionalism in the authority work.
You support the quality of the case handling by giving sparring, asking good professional questions, and pointing out necessary adjustments when a case needs to be qualified or advanced.
The advisers retain responsibility for their own cases. Your task is to support, qualify, and create a shared direction without taking over responsibility for the individual case.
The team leader has personnel and management responsibility. You work closely together to translate legislation, practice, supervisory oversight, and professional goals into a consistent and usable practice. In case of significant professional disagreement, lack of progress, or need for managerial decision, the team leader is involved.
What the role looks like in practice
You are close to the day-to-day task solving and accessible to the advisers. In complex cases you help create an overview, identify the central social- and legal issues, and clarify the next steps. You do not have the solutions alone, but you create the framework for advisers to make professionally and legally sound decisions.
The role includes ongoing sparring, quality assurance, professional development, and implementation. This means you must be able to switch between the concrete case, the shared practice, and the department's long-term development.
Your success factors
Your most important task is to strengthen the entire department professionally. You should, among other things:
- be an accessible professional sparring partner for the advisers in ongoing casework and in complex cases
- ensure high professional quality and support a consistent practice in case information, assessments, decisions, documentation, and other authority tasks
- lead in cases and tasks that require special professional direction, coordination, or momentum
- stay up-to-date with legislation, principle notices, practice, and other relevant knowledge in the field
- translate new legislation and practice into clear guidance, common workflows, and usable support in the advisers’ everyday work
- drive case meetings so they foster professional reflection, qualify the casework, and provide value for all participants
- contribute to supervisory oversight twice a year with a focus on, among other things, professional quality, consistent case handling, documentation, and compliance with rules and internal workflows
- identify needs for professional development, learning, tools, and quality assurance, and take responsibility for turning development into practice
- support a culture where there is room to bring doubts and challenges forward, and where collective reflection is actively used for learning.
Who are you?
Your educational background can be social worker, pedagogue, or another relevant social professional. The essential thing is that you have solid experience with authority work in the specialized adult area.
You have professional depth that naturally makes others seek your sparring. At the same time, you know that buy-in is created through dialogue, credibility, and respect. You can critique quality without losing sight of the relationship, and you can make complex professional and legal questions understandable and usable.
We would like you to have
- solid experience with authority tasks under the Social Services Act in the specialized adult area
- a secure knowledge of relevant social law, administrative law, and practice in the specialized adult area
- the ability to analyze complex cases and translate issues into professional direction, prioritization, and concrete actions
- the ability to quality-assure authority work and an eye for the links between case information, citizen involvement, professional assessment, justification, and decision
- the ability to communicate professional knowledge clearly, precisely, and practically, both orally and in writing
- the ability to create buy-in and remain calm in the professional leadership role, even when there are different perspectives or difficult decisions
- the ability to balance support and clear professional expectations so advisers experience both help, responsibility, and direction.
It is an advantage if you
- have experience leading professional meetings, learning programs, or development processes
- have worked with quality assurance, supervisory oversight, workflows, or implementation of new legislation and practice
- are curious, development-oriented, and motivated to raise both the individual adviser and the department's common practice.
The professional area
The Social Unit for Adults handles authority tasks for adults with disabilities and/or social problems under the Social Services Act in the specialized adult area. We work with complex cases across target groups, needs, and interventions. The tasks require high legal and social-professional quality, strong coordination, and attention to both the citizen's needs, legal rights, and a sustainable effort.
We work with recovery and rehabilitation as a professional mindset. This means that we focus on the citizen's own resources, hope, coping, and the possibility to live as independent and meaningful a life as possible. We also focus on citizen involvement, uniform case handling, systematic follow-up, and ensuring that our decisions and interventions are professionally sound. As a professional coordinator you will play a key role in maintaining and developing this practice.
Why you should choose us
You will have a role with clear professional responsibility and real opportunity to influence the direction of the specialized adult area. You will join an environment where professionalism is not something we face alone, but something we develop together.
- a central position close to both day-to-day case processing and the department's professional development
- opportunity to set direction for quality, learning, and shared authority practice
- a close and trusting collaboration with advisers, a negotiating consultant, and the team leader
- complex and meaningful tasks where your professionalism makes a clear difference
- space for professional reflection, competence development, and shared learning
- flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work by agreement
- a workplace with helpful colleagues, an ecological canteen, and training facilities.
