About the job

Project Manager for the development of sustainable packaging - maternity leave vacancy

Do you want to influence the green agenda within sustainable packaging for cosmetics and personal care products? And are you a skilled project manager? Then you now have the opportunity to become part of the success story at Nopa Nordic.

Maybe you don’t know Nopa Nordic, but you certainly have one of our products at home, and the same goes for almost every other Dane – and millions of households in the rest of Europe. We develop and manufacture private label products for households: detergents, dishwashing liquids, cleaning products, washing powder, dishwasher tablets and personal care products for some of the largest supermarket chains. In addition, we develop and produce a wide range of cosmetic and personal care products for leading Danish and international brands.

For more than 30 years we have been at the forefront of sustainability, environmental labeling and innovation.

We manufacture in Denmark, and our business overall is about reducing our own and our customers’ footprint on the environment by developing and producing green and sustainable products. We are certified to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and we constantly work on setting new standards within green development.

For our R&D department in Hobro we are looking for a project manager for our Team Packaging, where you together with the rest of the team will help develop and implement packaging solutions for our personal care customers.

In Team Packaging you will have five capable colleagues to brainstorm with. We all come from very different backgrounds, but what unites us is our passion for optimizing and developing packaging for our customers. You don’t need to have knowledge of packaging development, but you should find it motivating to work with new opportunities within packaging. You will be the link between our sales department, our suppliers and our production, and you will help ensure that our new packaging both meets customer requirements and environmental requirements while being compatible with our production setup.

After thorough onboarding you will be self-driven on your own projects, where you will be responsible for ensuring that we reach the tasks by the agreed time and in line with our ambitious sustainability goals for packaging development.

Your responsibilities span a wide range within packaging development

  • larger projects with entirely new packaging, e.g., implementing a new bottle for hand soap in recycled plastic
  • smaller projects with existing packaging, e.g., a new cap color that matches the customer’s label design
  • optimize existing packaging, e.g., new carton sizes to optimize freight.

You should look forward to

  • a job where you handle many tasks at once
  • a job where you plan your day, but it rarely turns out exactly as you imagined in the morning
  • collaborating across the organization, where you become the link between our production, our sales department and our suppliers
  • working with both private label and brands, where we as the customer’s partner have strong influence on what is on the shelves in your local stores and around Europe.

The right candidate

  • is action-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced day
  • has a knack for details and follows up on agreements
  • works in a structured way and maintains an overview, even when things move quickly
  • has good business sense
  • thrives with practical and very hands-on problem solving.

You can be recently educated or have experience, but it is not your personal and educational background that is decisive. We place higher value on your personal attitude and your approach to problem solving.

The workplace is at our head office in Hobro, where you will have a large external touchpoint with suppliers and internal touchpoints with other departments both in Hobro and Esbjerg.

One of our capable project managers is going on maternity leave, and the position is therefore a 12-month maternity leave cover.

At Nopa Nordic you get

  • the opportunity to put your green mark on both everyday goods and specialty goods
  • professional challenges every day and the opportunity to improve your skills
  • capable and helpful colleagues in a team where we prioritize good humor and well-being
  • an active staff association with events for every taste.
