About the job
Can you get people on board when new ideas need to become action? Do you have an eye for how communication and behavior are connected – and do you think the best solutions are created together with those they affect? Then we have a maternity leave temporary position where you can bring your communication expertise right into our development projects.
Job description
You will become part of the municipality's central staff for Policy, Strategy and IT, which serves the mayor and the executive, works closely with and supports the rest of the organization, and handles contact with citizens, businesses and other stakeholders.
As part of the staff you will join our project team, anchored in the Department of the City Council Secretariat, Communication and Projects. We work across the organization on development projects that should create value for citizens, local communities and the organization – including in welfare, learning, business development and green transition.
A large part of the projects are externally funded, including through EU programs and Danish funds, and are often carried out in collaboration with national and international partners. In this context, you should expect some travel activity to project meetings and conferences.
In the maternity leave position you will have a special role at the intersection between projects, communication and people. You will help make the projects visible and understandable – but also use communication actively to create engagement, participation and change. In other words, it is not only about telling what we do.
Therefore you will work with communication plans, campaigns and content production as well as behavior and involvement. You must be able to switch between strategic overview and concrete tasks – from planning a communication effort to actually creating the post, the video, the newsletter or the material for a workshop.
What you will work with
The through-line in your tasks is clear: You will help bring our projects to life for the people they concern.
- Plan, coordinate and follow up on the projects' internal and external communication – including communication plans and campaigns.
- Produce content for social media, websites, newsletters and other channels – including text, graphics, photos and video.
- Develop citizen-oriented communication and information materials that make complex projects relevant, concrete and accessible.
- Contribute to workshops, Living Labs and co-creation with citizens, partners and colleagues – and document the activities along the way.
- Use communication and behavioral insights to create engagement and support the change the projects are meant to contribute to.
You will also become part of the joint task solution in the project team. Therefore you should also be willing to contribute with sparring, coordination and practical project work and administration when needed.
Who are you?
We expect you to have a relevant higher education with a strong communicative foundation – for example in communications, dissemination or similar. Your exact title is less important than your ability to combine communication expertise with curiosity about people, behavior and development.
We especially value that you
- are a strong communicator in both Danish and English, able to make complex material simple, relevant and engaging
- can think strategically and also produce content across channels
- have an eye for target audiences, behavior and involvement – and an interest in how communication can create engagement and action
- work in a structured way and can keep track of activities, deadlines and follow-up
- take initiative, build good relationships and thrive on developing solutions together with others.
It is an advantage if you have worked with communication in projects or development processes before, but you do not need to bring many years of project experience. We are just as interested in your communicative toolbox, your people insight and your desire to achieve results together with others.
What you get with us
- A maternity leave position where communication is not a side task, but a central part of the projects' development and implementation.
- Opportunity to follow the communication all the way from idea and strategy to campaign, workshop, video or post.
- A strong professional environment with skilled colleagues, room for sparring and a shared focus on quality and collaboration.
- An informal work environment where we help each other and focus on quality, collaboration and job satisfaction.
- Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work.
