Apply for the position
Sweco is seeking an experienced project manager for our transformer station projects in Denmark. You will be part of an organization full of energy and a can-do attitude, and that helps drive the green transition.
As part of Sweco Transmission, located in our Energy Division, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that directly affect society's electricity supply and contribute to the green transition. This supports global sustainability goals and ensures a greener future for our and future generations' cities and communities.
At Sweco you join a strong professional environment with specialists in the energy field. We strive to deliver the best solutions to our clients and partners, while continually developing to maintain our position as one of the industry's leading consultants – a work that we expect you to participate in and, not least, find motivating.
We operate with a decentralised structure that gives you great influence over the projects. We are convinced that the best decisions are made locally, which creates a dynamic and meaningful workflow. As an integrated part of the projects you will thus experience a strong sense of co-ownership and responsibility towards both customers and partners.
About the team
You will join our Transmission team, delivering electrical engineering projects across Denmark. We are an energetic group with high growth ambitions, and you should be ready for our team to look different in a year than it does today. We deliver high-quality projects based on two mantras:
- We want to be known for being skilled at what we do
- It should be fun to come to work – now, but also in three years
Additionally, part of ensuring high employee satisfaction is that we are part of a performance culture which we all uphold in practice every single day. We ensure the company is strong by delivering happy customers and strong financial results.
About the job
As a project manager you will play a central role in ensuring that our clients' projects run according to plan in terms of cost, time and quality. You will have a team of specialists available to your projects so you can focus on the role of project manager. Our customers often want interaction with people who understand the technical side of the projects, so it is important that you can at times also act as a technically oriented project manager.
You will work closely with experienced project managers and specialists from the department, as well as move across the business and participate in larger integrated projects. You will become part of a strong professional team and a competent organisation where cross-disciplinary collaboration is highly valued. Your responsibilities will include:
- Daily management of transformer station projects, including time management, budgeting, quality control and safety leadership.
- Preparation of project plans in collaboration with colleagues from Sweco and external stakeholders.
- Ensure professional supervision, inspection, assembly leadership, review and defect analysis on deliveries.
- Reporting to the client/plant owner and assist with their own deliverables, which often span development, procurement, operations, and project organisation.
- Leadership and coordination of subcontractors and other stakeholders in connection with the projects.
- Furthermore, Sweco’s flat and uncomplicated organisation provides close contact with our current and future customers, and we therefore expect you to participate in client meetings at all levels.
About you
We are looking for a project manager with solid experience, i.e., more than 5 years, who is engaged, professionally competent and able to motivate and lead highly capable project teams. It is essential that you have a deep understanding of transformer station projects, and preferably experience in high-voltage lines, cables and/or offshore wind projects. We also expect you to have strong coordination and collaboration skills and be able to build both external and internal relationships.
It is important that you are motivated by being part of a team that delivers strong results as we require this of each other. Additionally, you should be able to stay calm and ensure a good atmosphere while being a culture carrier on the projects you lead. We expect that you:
- Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in project management of transformer stations.
- Speak fluent Danish at C-level and have good English skills.
- Can handle short- or long-term relocations and integrate into the client's organisation.
