Property service technician or other tradesperson for operation and maintenance in the Psychiatry Department at Esbjerg Hospital

The technical function in Psychiatry at Esbjerg Grindsted Hospital is seeking a versatile and service-minded property service technician or another tradesperson profile for the daily operation and maintenance of buildings and technical installations.

With us, you will become an important part of the daily operation at a hospital, where well-functioning buildings and technology are essential for patients, staff and treatment.

About the Position: You will become part of a small, close unit, where we help each other across disciplines and functions.

Your daily work will be varied with both fixed operational and maintenance tasks and acute challenges. You will work broadly with buildings and technical installations – from supervision and minor repairs to simple troubleshooting and coordination with professional colleagues and external service providers.

You do not need to be a specialist in one particular trades discipline. The most important is that you have broad technical understanding, practical sense and a desire to learn about different installations and systems.

We are a small unit and depend on each other’s help and flexibility. In case of illness and vacation there may be a need for you to also help with internal logistics and service tasks such as mail, food and waste.

A Special Place to Work: Psychiatry is not an ordinary technical workplace. You work in buildings that are also the patients’ treatment environment, and you will move in close proximity to both patients and staff.

It requires that you can handle your tasks with calm, respect and situational awareness. In return, it becomes very clear why your work is important: When buildings, installations and practical functions work, you contribute to creating the framework for the clinic to concentrate on the patients.

Your Tasks

• Operation, supervision and maintenance of buildings and technical installations
• Ordinary crafts tasks and minor repairs
• Troubleshooting within among other things plumbing, ventilation, electricity and other technical installations
• Supervision and operation of for example CTS, access control, fire safety systems and lighting
• Preventive maintenance and follow-up on faults and deficiencies
• Collaboration with colleagues, external craftsmen and service providers
• Practical service to the hospital departments and users
• When needed, assist with internal logistics and service tasks

We imagine you

• Are educated as a property service technician or have another relevant practical or craft background
• Have technical flair and interest in building operation and technical installations
• Would preferably have knowledge of plumbing, ventilation, electricity, CTS or similar
• Have good manual skills and enjoy working with many different types of tasks
• Work independently, structured and take responsibility
• Are flexible and prepared to help across functions when needed
• Are service-minded and can meet patients, colleagues and users in a calm and respectful manner
• Have ordinary IT skills at user level, familiarity with the Office suite
• Hold a driving license of at least category B

Experience with property operation or technical maintenance is an advantage, but not required.

Shift Arrangement: In daily work you operate during normal daytime as part of the regular technical function.

After completing training you will join the shift arrangement together with the department’s other craftsmen. The shift team consists of a total of five craftsmen, and you will as a rule have a shift every 5th weekend and a fixed daytime from 15:30-07:00

When you have a shift, it is required that you can report to the hospital within 30 minutes.

Terms of Employment: The position is full-time with salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement.

The Region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in Professionsbachelorer in the technical field - agreement 33.18.1 - salary as of 1.4.2026 and Craftsmen, fitters, electronic technicians, etc. - agreement 32.23.1 - salary as of 1.4.2026 . In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
