About the job
Do you have a passion for advisory and guidance, and do you want to create new opportunities for military personnel? Then the job as an advisor in the upskilling pool in the HR Coordination section might be something for you?
The positions are newly established and offer good opportunities for development and flexibility, as well as a lot of great colleagues. We are currently seeking 2 advisors for the upskilling pool.
About us
HR Coordination and Operations is part of the Career Center and HR Advisory in the Personnel Command.
The section consists of two distinct teams plus one section chief, who together number 11 colleagues. Both teams are based in Karup, where we are located together with several of the center's other HR sections.
We are a mixed group of military and civilian staff who value a dynamic daily life where well-being and good sparring are prioritized. The section's tasks are many and varied, which means you will be able to apply your expertise broadly in the section and in the center.
About the position
As an advisor in the upskilling pool you already help union-employed military personnel to strengthen their competencies and opportunities for a civilian education. This is to improve employees' opportunities for a further career in the Armed Forces or on the broader job market.
The position is an administrative broad role that involves both advising in the application process, advising on possible education programs that can receive funding. You will daily be in contact with the Armed Forces' managers, military personnel and colleagues from the Personnel Command.
In your first period as an advisor in the upskilling pool you will be involved in developing the administrative work around the application and allocation process. Later, by virtue of your knowledge of the upskilling pool, you will act as a knowledge bank for the Personnel Command's HR Partners and decentralized career counselors.
Examples of tasks you may undertake in your first period in the section
- plan and carry out inspiration activities about the upskilling pool at the Defence service locations and support HR partners and career counselors so they are equipped to advise managers and employees about the possibilities in the civilian education system.
- you will also help build and maintain a SharePoint site with relevant inspiration and materials.
- be present at service locations to provide sparring to HR partners and career counselors in concrete cases.
- build and maintain the contact between the Armed Forces and relevant civilian educational institutions such as vocational schools, VIA University, universities, etc.
- answer inquiries from Defence chiefs, military personnel and HR Partners.
- prepare communication material about the upskilling pool for HR Partners, career counselors, newsletters, etc.
You should expect some travel activity across the country in connection with conducting dialogue and inspiration activities at Defence service locations.
There is the possibility of remote work when it makes sense for the task, the authority, yourself and the section as a whole.
The Defence organization is, in many ways, a complex entity, and of course we ensure that you are properly equipped to perform the role, including through a structured onboarding and training program.
Furthermore you will be assigned a mentor at the start of employment who supports you throughout the training period.
About you
Your educational background is not decisive. The most important thing is that you have relevant experience, e.g., in career guidance, employment, HR or education field. Knowledge of the Armed Forces and its training programs is a plus, but not a requirement.
You will play a central role in building the advisory function. Therefore you must be able to work independently, seek knowledge and translate it into guidance that helps others progress.
We also emphasize that you
- build good relationships and meet others with a welcoming attitude
- work thoroughly and have an eye for detail
- communicate clearly and are comfortable standing in front of larger groups
- are curious and eager to dive into rules, processes and new areas
- are proficient with IT and eager to learn new systems.
We do not expect you to know everything from the start. Instead, we expect that you are eager to learn and help shape the advisory function.
Your ability to understand our organization, as well as the section's culture, processes and tasks, plays a large role in achieving success in the position. We want to tailor tasks to your qualifications and desires, and therefore we are casting a wide net.
Employment terms
You will be employed under the applicable agreement in force at any time.
Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility of negotiating a supplement. The position is linked to an employer-funded pension scheme.
Workplace is in Karup
As an employee under the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security clearable and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.
As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country, including at units in international operations with a view to participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, humanitarian and other similar operations.
