About Ungehjemmet Bifrost

Ungehjemmet Bifrost is located on Brandevej in Aalborg East and forms the framework for an integrated, cross-sectoral effort, where collaboration between the services and Aalborg University Hospital – psychiatry is close and coordinated.

The target group is young people with average intelligence, aged 14–22, who exhibit severe self-harmful behavior – often with comorbidity. If acute treatment or admission is needed, this is arranged in close collaboration with Aalborg University Hospital – psychiatry.

The professional foundation is mentalization-based milieu therapy (MBMT) with relationship work as the core element. In addition, systematic work with Low Arousal 2 (LA2) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) is undertaken. The offering is established in accordance with the Child Act § 43, section 1, no. 6 and section 3, as well as the Service Act § 107 and with reference to the Danish Quality Model.

We are looking for you if you are a professionally strong and experienced social and health care assistant and preferably have insight into working with young people with severe self-harm behavior. You thrive in a specialized environment, meet young people, relatives and partners professionally and positively, and see both professional and personal development as a natural part of the job.

You have strong relationship-building and mentalization skills, can maintain calm and overview in acute situations, and work with commitment and loyalty with the shared professional approaches and methods that you translate into practice. You motivate and involve the young people in the treatment process and support their self-determination and participation rights in a way that their hopes and dreams are expressed.

You have, as a social and health care assistant at Ungehjemmet Bifrost, a special responsibility for providing and inspiring holistic care and support to the young people with a focus on both physical and mental well-being in accordance with the 12 health-related problem areas. In addition, ensure that the health-related assessment is in accordance with the instructions.

Your specific tasks will include

• To carry out practice-oriented health-related interventions and translate plans into concrete action in everyday life
• To observe, document and respond to early signs of self-harm, including contributing to de-escalation and prevention through presence and professional tools
• To document professional observations focusing on the linkage between somatics, psyche, and behavior
• To participate in updating local health-related instructions and procedures
• To train non-health-care staff in medication handling, hygienic principles, dispensing PN to specific youths and documentation thereof
• To update the medical chart from FMK, manage medication dosing and evaluation, and register over-the-counter medicines in the journals system

Your tasks will also be to plan and implement individual treatment interventions based on the municipality’s order. In a multidisciplinary environment where we support each other, you will be a contact person for a number of youths and work closely with your colleagues in the contact team and the other pedagogical staff and leadership. We expect you to work both day and evening shifts, planned in a way that you can fulfil your special tasks. You have weekend work every other weekend.

Salary and employment terms according to the current collective agreement for social and health care personnel entered into with FOA.

The position is initially 37 hours per week.

The process

• Application deadline is 5 November 2026
• Employment interviews are expected to be held in week 46
• Prior to the interview a case will be sent, which must be prepared and presented at the interview
• When offering employment references will be taken and a child and criminal record check will be obtained
• Start on 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible
