Our residential services are seeking relief workers for day shifts, evening shifts and awake night shifts

Would you like to help create a sense of security for children, youths and adults with visual impairment and multiple disabilities?

Our two offerings for children, young people and adults with visual impairment and multiple disabilities are looking for relief workers for day, evening and awake night shifts.

The target group's mental development ranges from about 3 months to up to 5 years.

The pedagogical effort in the residential services is individually tailored and based on the individual's prerequisites, resources and wishes for influence on their own life.

The target group can have complex health-care considerations, for which an individually tailored effort is made in collaboration with health-care professionals in the services and Synscenter Refsnæs nurses.

Being a relief worker at Synscenter Refsnæs is a responsible job that places demands on you. The residential services need relief workers who:

• Have experience working in the pedagogical and health-care fields and preferably with a relevant educational background.
• Have the ability to work all times of the day and night, all year round
• Be energetic and positively inclined in collaboration with experienced colleagues
• Be empathetic and interested in acquiring knowledge and skills to benefit the target group
• Have a good overview, and take initiative to solve minor practical tasks where possible
• Are prepared to help this wonderful target group with all daily tasks, such as eating, laundry, cleaning, personal hygiene, etc.
• Can initiate activities with the target group
• Preferably have experience working as an awake night shift
• Preferably have health-care training, such as SSA or SSH

Working hours

Our day shifts are typically between 6:00 and 14:30

Our evening shifts are usually between 12:00 and 21:00

Our night shifts typically run from 22:45 to 08:00.

Starting salary for collective agreement employees

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of the base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

About Synscenter Refsnæs

Synscenter Refsnæs is the national specialist educational resource and knowledge center for children and young people with visual impairment, including blindness. Children and youths who are registered in Synsregistret or meet the criteria for it can use the offerings. The target group also includes children and youths with additional disabilities including blindness.

Synscenter Refsnæs is a highly specialized offering that works evidence-based and cross-disciplinary with development, learning, well-being and citizenship for the target group in a nationwide collaborative framework.

The offerings include knowledge work, specialist counseling and guidance, individual assessment, course offerings and group programs, production of materials, school, after-school programs, STU and residential services.
