About the job

Do you want to be part of a dynamic and exciting department where you will learn hematology and see both infectious medicine and internal medicine in general, so perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

Who we are

Haematology has both highly specialized hematological treatment and basic hematology. We handle evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of, among others, patients with lymph node cancer, myelomatosis, acute and chronic leukemias, as well as allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. The department has a total of 45 beds distributed across two wards, 4 clinics, its own laboratory and a diagnostic unit. We are 15 junior doctors and 31 specialists. The department has an active research unit and a good research environment.

We can offer you

  • employment in a 12-month unclassified junior resident position
  • a thorough introduction to your tasks
  • a good education in hematology, but also in internal medicine issues, including many exciting infections
  • a good learning environment with regular teaching at least twice a week, and a good collaboration between specialists and junior doctors
  • fixed team affiliation with daily conferences in smaller teams
  • dedicated specialists who provide good professional supervision
  • opportunity to gain exposure to both clinical and basic research.

We expect that you

  • are active and engaged in both the specialty and the patients, as well as in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • contribute positively to a good work and education environment
  • have interest, curiosity and a desire to learn more about the hematology specialty.

Your tasks

You will be placed in the on-call team, which operates on an 8-shift schedule. Here you will be on call during daytime, have evening and night shifts, work in the department's diagnostic unit, and with the possibility to conduct ward rounds and be in the department's clinics. The on-call duty from 23:00 to 08:00 is a shared on-call with Liver, Gastrointestinal and Digestive Diseases.
