About the job
The Institute for Nursing and Nutrition Education at the Copenhagen College of Professional Higher Education (KP) seeks two professors for the research program 'Quality in Nursing and Nutrition'. We seek researchers with a nursing and/or public health science background who will help shape the program's academic direction and translate it into research projects, strategic partnerships and external funding.
Research with impact for patients, citizens and relatives
We study health-related, relational and organizational quality in nursing. The research is developed in close collaboration with hospitals, municipalities and other stakeholders. Within the strategic framework you will have a large professional discretion to shape your research areas and develop new ideas. The crucial factor is that the research generates new knowledge and solutions that improve the quality of nursing.
Two research profiles that complement each other
The first professor is a nurse and has experience in developing, testing and implementing interventions that improve the quality of nursing. You are strong in quantitative methods and can collect and analyze health data.
The second professor also has strong competencies in quantitative methods. You should be able to use data to examine quality, variation, inequality and effect, and preferably be able to work with data across sectors. You have a health professional background.
Together with researchers and PhD students in our research environment, both professors shall develop practice-oriented and application-oriented research that identifies significant quality problems, develops and tests solutions and creates knowledge about what works, for whom, and under what conditions.
Your workplace
You will become part of an experienced research group with a strong professional community and an informal tone. We collaborate to develop research ideas, projects, grant applications and publications and to strengthen the research environment as a whole.
As a professor you will have the opportunity to make a clear research impact while also playing a central role in developing the research program's common scholarly direction.
About the job and your academic mandate as a professor
You will be responsible for developing and leading research and development projects, building strategic partnerships and securing external funding. You must actively contribute to the academic development of the research program as well as publish and disseminate both nationally and internationally. You will help strengthen the overall capacity and influence of the research environment.
A smaller portion of the position includes teaching and supervision. Here your research should contribute to strengthening the knowledge base of the education programs and bring new research-based knowledge into the programs.
About you
You hold a nursing degree with a relevant master's degree (e.g., Cand.scient.san., Cand.cur., or APN) and/or have a master's degree in public health (Cand.scient.san.publ.) or equivalent. You have a PhD and a strong research profile with experience in one or more of the program's areas.
We place emphasis on your experience in developing and leading research projects, publishing internationally, and drafting competitive research applications. You can build strong collaborations with practice and other research environments and translate complex issues into research that can be used in the health system.
You thrive in a research community where people work independently, share ideas and actively contribute to each other's and the environment's development. Experience with teaching and supervision in higher education is an advantage.
Salary and employment terms
You will be employed as professor with start on 1 March 2027. The position is 37 hours per week.
Employment is in accordance with the applicable state collective agreement and in line with Executive Order no. 414 of 27 April 2025 on the position structure for teachers at business academies, university colleges, etc. The specific collective agreement depends on your educational background and will generally take place under either Academic Agreement in the State or Common Agreement for LC and CO10 . There will be an opportunity to negotiate qualification allowances
Employment as professor requires a positive evaluation by an external, scientific validation committee established when the position is to be filled, cf. Executive Order no. 413 of 27 April 2025.
The workplace is located at Tagensvej 86, 2200 Copenhagen N.
