About the job

Would you like to help set the direction? Are you interested in leadership – and in leading staff who know their trade and are passionate about it? We are seeking a Senior Bioanalyst for Multi 4 in Blood Tests and Biochemistry at Aarhus University Hospital, with starting date December 1, 2026 or by agreement.

Here you will get a management position close to both staff, operations and professional development. You will lead a highly specialized section where strong professionalism, research and development are part of everyday life – and where your task is to create the framework for people and professionalism to succeed together.

As Senior Bioanalyst in Multi 4 you will also be part of the management of a large laboratory department. Here we expect our leaders to take responsibility for their own area and contribute to the whole – including when solutions must be found across professional fields and organizational boundaries.

We are therefore looking for you who both want close leadership and to actively contribute to the development of our tasks, collaboration and organization.

About Multi 4

Multi 4 is a highly specialized section with about 15 bioanalysts. The section handles a number of highly specialized analyses, including immunochemical methods and specialized analyses in, among others, neurology, autoimmunity and vitamin B12. In addition, the section handles pre-analytical functions and is part of a 24/7 on-call community with other sections.

The section actively contributes to research and development and conducts analyses in connection with research projects both internally and externally.

Multi 4 is characterized by high professionalism, commitment and close collaboration between staff with different competencies and functions. We place emphasis on a culture marked by trust, respect and a shared responsibility for quality, operations and collaboration.

A broad leadership task

As Senior Bioanalyst you have a special responsibility for staff, operations, resources and the working environment and contribute, together with the other section leadership, to the professional development and quality in the area.

You must be close to the daily task solving and at the same time be able to look ahead and set the direction for the area's development. You will play a central role in creating the framework where high professional quality, safe operations, development and a good working environment go hand in hand.

Your tasks include, among others

  • staff management, staff development and well-being
  • recruitment and retention
  • planning and prioritization of resources and competencies
  • responsibility for safe and stable operations
  • work environment and development of a strong work community
  • quality, professional development and continuous improvements
  • implementation and anchoring of new solutions and working methods
  • supporting the section's research and development activities
  • cross-sectional collaboration across sections, professional groups and organizational boundaries
  • contribution to the department's overall development and task solving.

You will join the section leadership together with the chief physician and the biochemist. You bring different professional perspectives into the management and share responsibility for the section's overall development, while you as Senior Bioanalyst have the staff management of the bioanalyst group.

Leadership with us

We value present and clear leadership and that our leaders create direction, involve others and take responsibility.

As Senior Bioanalyst you must be able to stand behind decisions and at the same time be curious about the staff's professionalism and perspectives. You must be able to build good relationships and have an eye for the fact that solutions are often found through collaboration between people and across professional fields and organizational areas.

You will become part of the department's group of Senior Bioanalysts and have close collaboration with the department's other leaders. We see leadership as a joint task and expect our leaders to both take responsibility for their own area and actively contribute to the whole.

Blood Tests and Biochemistry is a large department in continuous development. New technologies, changed tasks and new ways of collaborating mean that our organization is also evolving. As a leader with us you must therefore thrive on development and be keen to help find good solutions – also across the organizational boundaries we know today.

This also means that tasks and areas of responsibility may develop over time in line with the department's needs and organization.

Who are you?

You are trained as a bioanalyst and have an interest in leadership. You have leadership experience or have demonstrated clear leadership potential in other roles and are now ready to take the next step.

We emphasize that you

  • are clear, present and trust-building
  • can set direction and at the same time allow space for the staff's professionalism
  • have an eye for both people, operations, quality and development
  • can prioritize and make decisions in a complex everyday life
  • work relationally and contribute to good collaborations
  • are curious about other professional fields and perspectives
  • can look beyond your own area and contribute to the overall department
  • can maintain an overview, even when many considerations and interests are at stake
  • are eager for development and can help translate new possibilities into practical solutions.

It is not essential that you already know all functions and analyses in Multi 4. The most important is that you are curious, take responsibility and can bring staff and partner professionals' expertise into play.

We offer

You will get an independent and versatile leadership position in a large and highly specialized department with dedicated and professionally strong staff. You will also become part of a leadership community where we collaborate across, exchange ideas and have a common ambition to create good solutions for patients, staff and partners. You will have the opportunity to both make your mark on Multi 4 and contribute to the continued development of Blood Tests and Biochemistry.

Terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The appointment is conditional on a satisfactory child-ressetta (background) check and a satisfactory authorization.

If you have questions about the position or would like an informal chat about the role, you are very welcome to contact Chief Bioanalyst Kate Juul Strandgaard at phone 4029 3192.
