About the job

There is a long way between workplaces where high professional quality, a strong collegial community and a sustainable working life go hand in hand. We think they should. Therefore we are now seeking an associate chief physician colleague for the Holbæk District Psychiatric Service.

We are in the midst of a time when psychiatry is developing. The expectations for cross-sector collaboration are increasing, while the specialist-specific professional quality of the treatment pathways is being enhanced. This places demands on us as an organization, but also offers the opportunity to think anew and develop outpatient psychiatry. We place high value on multidisciplinary collaboration, not as an on-paper ambition, but as part of everyday life.

With us you will become part of a well-run district psychiatric service that covers Holbæk, Kalundborg and Odsherred. We work according to the F-ACT model, and you will be affiliated with an F-ACT team in close collaboration with an associate chief physician colleague. You will join a strong community of specialists with six experienced specialist colleagues. We have regular scheduled sparring, a high professional level and a culture where it is natural to rely on each other in the complex patient pathways.

We want to be a workplace where an experienced specialist physician continues to develop, has influence over their work, and feels that their voice is heard.

The position is for you who are motivated by clinical work, by psychopathology, and who also thrive in collaboration with other professional groups. You who would like to contribute to the development of both patients, colleagues and the organization.

What awaits you?

The District Psychiatric Service North consists of three F-ACT teams with a total of about 700 patients. You will be attached to a team where you work closely with the team's other associate chief physician, a senior psychologist, nurses, social workers and other practitioners. The team primarily treats patients with psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder and other severe mental illnesses requiring a close and flexible outpatient treatment offer. As an associate chief physician you will contribute with medical leadership in the team and be a central sparring partner for both colleagues and management.

Professional dialogue is an important part of how we work. In addition to weekly cross-disciplinary conferences, you will participate in regular medical and psychological conferences where complex pathways are discussed and psychopathological assessments and treatment strategies are refined.

There are good opportunities to bring your interests and competences into play. If you would like teaching, supervision or development tasks, there is room for that. If you have an interest in research, we also support that part of the work life.

The work is primarily outpatient. There is the possibility of participating in on-call duties, but it is not a requirement.

Why many choose to stay with us

Of course, it is important what you work with. But for most specialist physicians it is equally important who you work with.

With us you get

  • A strong professional environment with six specialist doctors and close collaboration with engaged psychologists, nurses, social workers, social educators and peer workers.
  • Regular scheduled collegial sparring with a focus on both clinical depth and the working environment.
  • Possibility for flexible work arrangements.
  • Primarily on-site in Holbæk with the option to alternate with on-site at the online clinic in Copenhagen.
  • Good opportunities for teaching, supervision and professional development.
  • Opportunity to participate in research activities.
  • A department leadership consisting of a chief physician, a leading psychologist and a chief nurse, who prioritizes dialogue, inclusion and professional development.
  • A culture characterized by respect, helpfulness and job satisfaction.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • Are a specialist in psychiatry.
  • Thrive in patient pathways where assessment of psychopathology and treatment of more severe mental disorders are central.
  • Want to contribute to professional development and share your knowledge with colleagues.
  • See value in multidisciplinary collaboration and in patient involvement.
  • Can create overview and direction in a busy and complex everyday life.
