Senior Solution Architect – Business Applications

Coop Denmark, Albertslund

Do you want to help shape the future of business applications in one of Denmark's largest retail companies?

At Coop we are in the middle of an ambitious digital transformation, where modern technology plays a decisive role in creating efficient supply chains, strong customer experiences and well-functioning stores across the country.

Therefore we are looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect who can translate business needs into robust and future-proof solutions across our central application landscape. You will play a key role in developing solutions within, among others, SAP S/4, Relex and other strategic platforms, where you help define architectural principles, set the technical direction and ensure coherence across complex systems.

If you are motivated by working at the intersection of business and technology, and want to make a visible difference in one of Denmark's largest retail companies, this could be your next career step.

Your new team

You will become part of the Supply Chain team in Technology / Business Applications, which is responsible for developing, managing and further developing IT solutions including SAP S/4, Relex and a number of other technologies that support Procurement, Category, Purchasing and Logistics in Coop Denmark.

The team plays an important role in Coop's continued transformation by designing and implementing solutions that support both business development and stable operations. At the same time, we contribute to ensuring that our supply chain runs efficiently across more than 900 stores.

You report to Category & Sourcing Applications Manager.

About the job

As a Senior Solution Architect you will be a central sparring partner for both the business and Technology, with a particular focus on Supply Chain, Demand and Supply forecasting. You work with complex business-critical solutions including SAP S/4, Relex Plan and other tightly coupled applications. Here you translate business needs into concrete architectural requirements and contribute to creating solutions that are scalable, coherent and durable in both the short and long term.

You will be involved in both new initiatives and complex operational issues where your technical insight and experience will be crucial in making the right decisions. At the same time you contribute to technology roadmaps and ensure that our solutions support stable operations across the business.

In the role you will work closely with several product areas and Scrum teams, where you help plan and describe both smaller improvements and larger development initiatives. Your work provides the foundation for internal development teams and external vendors to deliver solutions that create real business value.

Your partners span a wide range including business areas, IT suppliers, developers, architects, project managers as well as specialists in infrastructure, security and operations.

Your primary areas of responsibility will

Strategic solution architecture

  • Define the architectural direction for larger programs and transformations.
  • Ensure coherence between enterprise architecture and solution architecture.
  • Drive technology choices and architectural decisions with a long-term perspective within the area.
  • Assess the implications of technical and business decisions across the system landscape.

Leadership and advisory

  • Act as a technical advisor for management, program managers and Product Management.
  • Facilitate architecture boards and governance forums.
  • Coach and mentor other architects.
  • Drive establishment of best practices and architectural standards.

Cross-cutting responsibilities

  • Ensure architectural coherence across areas
  • Identify and address technical debt and architectural risks.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning and investment decisions.

About you

You thrive in interaction with many stakeholders and are motivated by delivering results through collaboration. At the same time you work analytically and in a structured way, are good at creating an overview in complex contexts and can translate technical issues into solutions that deliver value to the business.

You communicate fluently in both Danish and English and are able to build trust across the organization.

In addition we envision that you

  • Have solid experience with complex enterprise solutions
  • Have good familiarity with Relex Plan, or similar forecasting/planning solutions
  • Have a strong understanding of integration architecture, cloud and data architecture
  • Have experience with architecture governance
  • Have experience with larger transformation programs

  • Are strong in stakeholder management
  • Think strategically and holistically and demonstrate natural professional leadership
  • Are able to create consensus across the organization
  • Have high impact and credibility
  • Have a relevant education in IT or equivalent experience
  • It is advantageous if you have experience from Supply Chain and/or Retail
