Senior Sustainability Leader for construction and infrastructure: contribute to realizing sustainability ambitions on our future groundbreaking construction projects

Now you have the opportunity to bring your experience into play at one of Denmark's largest contractor companies: MT Højgaard Denmark. For our Sustainability and Environment department we are currently seeking a Senior Sustainability Leader with a focus on construction and infrastructure for our headquarters in Søborg. The team functions as an executing competence center, supporting our projects to deliver on current and future sustainability requirements.

Take control of the projects' sustainability deliveries, and create concrete results

Your tasks will primarily lie within construction and infrastructure, and your focus will be to bring your expertise into play on our projects and bids and support them in delivering and documenting more sustainable solutions. We experience a strong focus on climate and environment in our construction and infrastructure projects, and you as a Senior Sustainability Leader will join our project teams and work to challenge conventional solutions, in early collaboration with clients, in bids, across design and on construction sites.

As a Senior Sustainability Leader you will report to Chief of Sustainability and Environment Aleksander Probst Otovic. The Sustainability team today counts five sustainability leaders and two senior sustainability leaders across Copenhagen and Aarhus.

As a senior with a focus on construction and infrastructure you are expected to contribute with your experience to develop the team's expertise in this area as well as engage in collaborations with our other disciplines, e.g., tunnels, water construction, and energy and utilities. You should therefore thrive being the go-to person for professional development and sparring partner for both the team and the rest of the organization.

Your primary tasks generally will be to

• act as sustainability leader on projects from early involvement to delivery
• assist our construction sites with handling and documentation of sustainability requirements
• help in drafting bids with focus on sustainability
• develop processes and tools that make it easier to work with sustainability on projects
• contribute to driving strategic initiatives within climate and environment
• ensure knowledge sharing and communicate about sustainable projects

About you

You thrive in a daily routine that includes both safety shoes and an office environment. You are proactive and motivated by having many different tasks, and by being close to the decisions.

You have as a sustainability leader experience in construction and infrastructure, which enables you to independently engage in collaboration with the other disciplines on this type of projects and challenge conventional solutions.

You are good at communicating and can understand and convey complex matters in an easily understandable way. Last but not least you are motivated by learning new things, expanding your professional knowledge and staying up-to-date with developments.

We would like you to

• have a relevant higher education (engineer, constructor, architect or similar)
• have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• have experience with LCA in connection with construction and infrastructure projects, e.g., InfraLCA, Carbon Baseline calculations or similar
• have experience from the contractor industry, including work on construction sites
