About the job

Staff member with a strong social- or nursing-related background for the Prevention Section

Esbjerg, South and Southwest Jutland Police

Are you passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration, and would you like to help make a noticeable difference for psychologically vulnerable citizens as well as vulnerable children and young people?

We are seeking an engaged employee who among other things will coordinate the police district's PSP collaboration (Police, Social authorities and Psychiatry).

In each of the police district's eight municipalities, an operational group has been established that meets regularly to discuss and coordinate interventions regarding psychologically vulnerable citizens. We are looking for an employee to take responsibility for the overall coordination of this work.

Furthermore, you will play a central role in our preventive work with children and young people. This includes, among other things, screening of cases for the Youth Crime Board (UKN).

You will also come to work with the IT tool Socialsøg, which helps to identify socially vulnerable families so that early interventions can be implemented.

Do you want to build strong relationships—both internally with police colleagues and externally with our partners? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

Your main tasks

  • Coordination of the PSP collaboration: You ensure internal coordination, attend the meetings of the operational groups, and participate in the PSP steering group.
  • External relationship building: You will be in ongoing contact and dialogue with our external partners.
  • Screening for UKN: You join the team that screens and assesses cases for the Youth Crime Board.
  • Early prevention via Socialsøg: You join the team that conducts searches in Socialsøg to identify socially vulnerable families and prepares professional notifications to the municipalities based on Socialsøg.

Our expectations of your profile

Your educational background is not decisive, but we expect that you are trained nurse, social worker, or have another relevant professional background. It is essential that you have knowledge of the core issues for psychologically vulnerable citizens as well as socially vulnerable families and children and young people.

In addition, we expect that you

  • Are proactive and independent: You thrive with responsibility, can drive your own tasks, and are motivated by learning new things.
  • Are a strong networker: You are outgoing and have a natural knack for building and maintaining good collaborative relationships across professional boundaries.
  • Are professionally strong: You can make sharp professional assessments in screening cases and prepare thorough, well-founded notifications.

Furthermore, it is important for the appointment that the employee is willing to acquire in-depth knowledge and user experience with police IT systems, including POL-SAS, KR, CPR register and Qlickview.

In return, we offer a unique opportunity to help shape the development of preventive work in a multidisciplinary collaboration and simultaneously develop your professional skills in a challenging and different job.

Salary and employment terms

This is a permanent position and the start date is expected to be 1 March 2027.

You will be employed under the current organizational agreement for social workers in the state.

The weekly working time will be 37 hours including a paid lunch break. Our normal working hours are Monday-Wednesday 8-16, Thursday 8-15 and Friday 8-14.

Your workstation is at the main police station in the South and Southwest Jutland Police District, Kirkegade 76, 6700 Esbjerg.

It is a condition for employment that you can obtain a security clearance and maintain it throughout your employment.

We expect to conduct interviews in week 46.
