About the job

Can you be present, listen and create a sense of security, while supporting with structure and motivation in everyday life? Then you can take an important role as housing support for a dear couple, both of whom need calm and relationship-oriented support.

About the assignment

We are seeking a social-professional employee for housing support for a couple who live together.

The woman has paranoid schizophrenia, anxiety, PTSD and borderline personality disorder. She needs structure, predictability and an acknowledging approach. The housing support includes, among other things, listening, talking about what occupies her thoughts, and supporting with structure and planning. It is important that you are stable and keep your appointments, and that you can provide quick responses when there is a need for it.

The man has Asperger's syndrome and paranoid schizophrenia. He experiences a torrent of thoughts and can have difficulty taking initiative for everyday tasks. He therefore needs support to create overview, structure and predictability.

Your task will among other things be to prepare weekly plans together with him and support him in getting started with activities. You will also take walks together, and you must be able to accompany him to training, possibly wait during the training and accompany him home again.

The support should be based on his resources and help him maintain as independent a daily life as possible. It requires a calm and clear approach, where you keep your appointments and support him in taking small steps when initiating is difficult.

For both residents it is important that you can be present and create a safe framework without provoking too much. The task is largely about being a stable relationship, listening and adapting the support to each individual's needs.

About you

You are a social professional employee and have experience with mental disorders and strong relationship skills. It is important that you have knowledge about mental disorders and can translate your professional knowledge into a calm, acknowledging and respectful approach.

You are good at listening and being present and can support with structure, planning and motivation when needed. At the same time you are comfortable that conversation and the relationship are sometimes central to the support.

You also have experience in supporting citizens who have difficulty taking initiative, and can help create overview and motivation without pressuring. You work in a structured manner, are clear in your agreements and can tailor your support to the individual's needs.

Working hours

The woman has 3 hours of housing support per week with contact on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It is not necessarily in person on all three days, as one contact can be a phone call.

The man has 3 hours of housing support per week, preferably Wednesday in the late morning. In addition there is the possibility of a safety call or a text once a week.

It is desired that the same staff member can handle the housing support for both residents.

We offer

You will become part of a family-owned company with many dedicated employees. You have a fixed advisor whom you can always consult. Outside office hours there is always a staffed duty phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the national agreement between FOA and Danish Industry. You are covered by DUOS' liability and work injury insurance and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.
