Social worker or educator for the warming shelter in Horsens

Motivated by creating calm and secure environments for people with addiction, loneliness and mental health problems? And can you take responsibility for the professional quality in the work at the warm shelter in collaboration with colleagues and volunteers? Then you may be our new colleague!

We are looking for a new colleague with a social work background for the warm shelter. The position is 32 hours per week with employment starting January 1, 2027.

About the job

The warm shelter is a resting place for people who have significant social problems such as homelessness, addiction, loneliness, mental illnesses as well as other health-related issues close to life.

Our core task is to support the users' resources, and we are always working to become even better at helping socially vulnerable people through a preventive and resource-focused approach.

Our approach is based on presence, care and respect and we work from an appreciative approach and an understanding that all people have value.

Our new colleague

• Has relevant social work education and background, e.g., pedagogue or social worker
• Has experience from work and knowledge of people in socially vulnerable positions and whose lives are characterized by difficult social conditions, addiction and mental illness
• Can build good relationships in conversation and companionship with vulnerable people
• Has respect and understanding for other people – and especially the target group
• Joins in the community around the tasks that need to be solved so the warm shelter functions as well as possible
• Can set boundaries, keep an overview and act in chaotic/violent situations in close collaboration with colleagues
• Has both feet on the ground, is positive and engaged
• Has a clarified relationship to the Danish Church and a Christian view of humanity
