About the job
Social Worker for Kontakten, Esbjerg
Do you want to use your social work expertise close to the citizen and help create solutions before problems grow bigger? Do you thrive with short, targeted processes, social-work clarification, and interdisciplinary collaboration?
Then you may be our new social worker in Kontakten.
The position is 37 hours per week with start date 1 December 2026.
About Kontakten
Kontakten is part of Psychiatry and Social Interventions in Esbjerg Municipality. We provide preventive and time-limited interventions under the Social Services Act § 82 a and b.
The target group is adults with reduced physical or mental functioning or social problems, as well as citizens who are at risk of developing these.
Our starting point is the right help as early as possible and with minimal intervention. We offer individual guidance, short-term courses, and group-based interventions focusing on the citizen's resources, coping and possibilities to move forward.
As a social worker you will be part of the citizen-centered effort where your social work knowledge is actively put to use. You shall among other things:
- map the citizen's situation, resources and support needs together with the citizen
- carry out short and targeted individual support courses
- support the citizen's coping and options for action
- build bridges to relevant municipal, regional and voluntary services
- collaborate with colleagues and external partners
- contribute with social worker perspectives in the interdisciplinary effort.
A central part of the work is, together with the citizen, to determine what is needed to move forward. For some, a short course in Kontakten is sufficient, while others need help to find the right way forward.
We are looking for someone who
- is educated as a social worker
- has a strong social-work understanding and view of the whole of the citizen's situation
- can create overview and act in complex problems
- works recovery- and rehabilitation-oriented with a basis in the citizen's own goals and resources
- has knowledge of relevant legislation and preferably experience from the adult sector
- thrives with independent responsibility and interdisciplinary collaboration
- meets the citizen respectfully and with a focus on possibilities.
You will become part of a workplace with a high degree of citizen contact, interdisciplinarity and a varied daily life. We prioritise professional sparring, development and good collaboration on the core task.
You will have the opportunity to put your social work expertise to use in a different way than in a traditional authority function – close to the citizen and with the possibility to translate your professional knowledge directly into the concrete effort.
