Social worker sought for the Forensic Psychiatry Clinic, main position in Viborg, Hospital Unit Midt

Forensic Psychiatric Clinic, main function, is a clinic that receives forensic psychiatric patients for outpatient treatment at the main function level for the Viborg, Skive and Silkeborg area.

The position is a full-time role from November 1, 2026

In the clinic we carry out the treatment of complex forensic psychiatric patients with a sentence for treatment.

Work is currently undertaken during daytime on weekdays. It involves a high degree of independence and at the same time close cooperation with our other skilled nurses, secretaries and doctors, who are always available for sparring, reflection and supervision.

The clinic's nurses see patients both in the Viborg clinic and at the patient's home, or where it makes sense for the patient.

In addition to supportive conversations, psychoeducation and behavioral therapy, you participate as a social worker in medical rounds, coordinate the effort with Denmark's Prisons, the municipality and inpatient wards in Viborg.

As a social worker you have responsibility for a number of patients, whom you typically follow over several years. You thus have an outstanding opportunity to work in a relationship-oriented and rehabilitative way with the individual patient

We prioritise the sense of community with daily contact, open door and a large staff room for lunch, teaching etc. There is flexibility regarding meeting times and a high degree of influence on planning one\'s own work.

We need you to have/ be

• Outpatient experience with psychiatric patients and experience with forensic psychiatry
• Experience with outreach function and visiting patients in their own homes
• Knowledge of differential diagnostics, substance abuse treatment and comorbidity
• Experience with talk therapy with persons under a treatment order
• Experience with multidisciplinary collaboration and coordination of efforts between municipality, social psychiatry and Danish prisons
• Experience with assessment and use of NAU
• Experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
• Experience with the use of LA 2
• Experience with rehabilitation-oriented work
• Good at working independently, keeping an overview and prioritising work tasks purposefully
• Can participate in multidisciplinary collaboration and finds this relevant
• Engaged in the core task - to make a difference for severely ill people with mental disorders and comorbidity.
