About the job

Social welfare professionals with strong relational competences are sought for the Center for Children, Youth and Families

Do you want to make a difference for children and families – and do you thrive in an interdisciplinary environment where you can use your professional and relational competences every day? Then we would very much like to hear from you.

Center for Children, Youth and Families

In the Center for Children, Youth and Families we have the authority for the municipality's interventions for children and young people aged 0-18 (23) years with a need for special support under the Child Act and the Social Services Act. We work in both the social and the specialist areas. The center consists of the Reception, the District Advisory Service, the 24-hour Advisory Service and the Specialist Advisory Service.

Relational welfare is our common professional foundation, where we take our starting point in the wishes, hopes and dreams of the child and the families. It is about having a holistic view and a resource-focused perspective on the children and families we work with.

With us you will have a varied and exciting job, where you have the opportunity to bring your own competences into play and develop professionally. You are warmly welcomed through an introduction program that ensures your knowledge of the legislation, the organization and our practices, and you will receive close managerial sparring in your startup period.

In daily work you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of wonderful and capable colleagues, and you will have access to both supervision and weekly team meetings with case sparring together with the manager and colleagues. At the same time we offer a flexible everyday life, where you have great freedom to plan your task solution with the possibility of home-based work. We are a workplace that prioritizes a good working environment for all.

We are looking for…

Social welfare workers for the district advisory service, who take on a special task in relation to providing advice and guidance, being the proactive preventive effort or supportive effort, e.g., in the form of family treatment or special pedagogical guidance in the district's own cases.

In the district advisory service we provide advice and guidance, initiate and provide early preventive efforts pursuant to § 30 and supportive efforts pursuant to § 32 as well as handle cases concerning compensation benefits pursuant to § 86, lost earning capacity pursuant to § 87 and substitution pursuant to § 84/90.

We work in locally anchored multidisciplinary teams. In all teams there will be staff with special competencies within, respectively, children, youth, family treatment, special pedagogy and compensation benefits. Staff with special professional competencies participate in a professional track across departments and teams in order to maintain and develop specialized professional expertise.

A job in the Center for Children, Youth and Families is varied. As a social welfare professional you will, among other things:

  • Continuously involve children, parents and networks with the starting point of the family's wishes, hopes and dreams for change.
  • Handle notifications.
  • Prepare screenings pursuant to BL § 18
  • Participate in network meetings.
  • Provide advice and guidance to families in vulnerable positions.
  • Initiate and provide early preventive interventions pursuant to § 30.
  • Initiate and provide supportive interventions pursuant to § 32.
  • Follow up on and continuously adjust interventions.

To succeed best in the task, you have

  • A social welfare or psychological background such as e.g., family therapist, psychologist, pedagogue, teacher or social worker.
  • A desire to work relationally and start from the families' wishes, hopes and dreams.
  • Enjoy (interdisciplinary) collaboration and like to work closely with your colleagues and contribute actively to both the professional and social community.
  • Knowledge or interest in special pedagogy work.
  • Open, listening and flexible in task solving.
  • The ability to structure and balance your time between contact with families and the legally required documentation and administrative tasks.

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed in the Center for Children, Youth and Families, which is part of the administration area Children, Youth and Education in the Mayor’s Office for Social Conditions and Employment. Your primary workplace will be either Karen Blixens Boulevard 7 in Brabrand or Grøndalsvej 1 in Viby depending on which district you are employed in. Work also takes place in the families' homes as well as at schools and institutions in the school district.

Salary and terms of employment are set according to applicable collective agreement with final salary determination after negotiation with the relevant professional organization based on qualifications.

Employment is conditional on a satisfactory public criminal records check and a clean child abuse registry.

Weekly working hours are 37 hours with start on 01-12-2026 . This is a permanent position .
