About the job

We are seeking a qualified pedagogue for our upper school in a permanent 80% position.

As a pedagogue in the upper school you will be a central part of the work to strengthen students' well-being, development and participation in the school's academic and social communities.

You collaborate closely with teachers, the school's AKT team, management, parents and external partners to create coherent and targeted initiatives around both classes and individual students.

You actively participate in class teams and team meetings, contributing with your pedagogical expertise, your observations and concrete proposals for actions. Part of the task is to plan, implement and follow up on well-being initiatives and individual action plans.

You work systematically to support students' social skills, relationship-building and sense of belonging, competence and autonomy.

You are visible and available in students' daily lives – in both teaching and breaks. Here you work relationally and preventively and help create inclusive activities and communities where there is room for diversity.

The position is relatively new, and you will thus have the opportunity to help shape and develop the role of the pedagogue in the upper school.

Your profile

You are a qualified pedagogue and have a strong professional focus on young people's well-being, development and opportunities to participate.

You meet the students with clarity, curiosity and positive expectations and manage to create trusting and respectful relationships – also with students who are in vulnerable positions or who need special support.

You can translate your observations into concrete pedagogical interventions and work systematically with goals, action plans, documentation and follow-up.

You take initiative, follow up on agreements and can adapt your efforts when students' needs or the situation change.

You thrive in close and binding collaboration and contribute constructively with your pedagogical professionalism.

You are open to other perspectives and can at the same time stand clearly in your own professional stance. You communicate appreciatively and professionally with students, parents, colleagues, management and external partners and have a sense that the best solutions are created in collaboration.

Sødalskolen is a diverse public school in Brabrand with about 200 students and 35 engaged pedagogical staff. The school provides the framework for learning and formation for children and youths in both district classes and reception classes.

We emphasize present adults who meet the young with positive expectations and are responsive, clear and responsible in interaction with them. You will become part of a close cross-professional collaboration with teachers, pedagogues, guidance counselors and management, where we together create holistic initiatives around both classes and individual students.

From the 2026-27 school year, Sødalskolen is a profile school with a focus on movement and sports in collaboration with Elite Sports Academy Aarhus (ESAA) for the so-called ESAA Kids.

The school is located in scenic surroundings close to Brabrand Lake with the forest as a neighbor. This provides good opportunities to involve nature, movement and activities outside the classroom in the pedagogical work. There are also good transport options.
