About the job

There is now a unique opportunity to become a specialist psychologist in a general 24-hour ward in psychiatry. The ward is in full development, but has a strong professional foundation to build on. As a specialist psychologist in the ward you will have the opportunity to influence this process and contribute to further development in collaboration with your colleagues.

The position is a permanent full-time role of 37 hours per week with start on 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

About the 24-hour ward for children and adolescents

In the General 24-hour Ward, patients aged 6–17 years are admitted. Patients are admitted either for relief or for evaluation and treatment.

The General 24-hour Ward has 11 beds and is an integrated ward, meaning that the beds can function as both open and closed beds. The ward also includes a day department with ambulant function, focusing on treatment of children aged 6–12 years. However, the day ward has a separate treatment team. You will primarily be attached to the night area, but there will be an opportunity to contribute to relevant assessment across the ward.

From 1 September 2026 the 24-hour ward has been split, so the eating disorders team now constitutes a separate ward.

We work in a team-based and multidisciplinary manner and place high value on close cooperation with patients and their families. Families are given high priority in treatment, and parental cooperation is a central and integrated part of patient pathways. We systematically involve parents and relevant partners with focus on continuity and transferability between the 24-hour ward, home and school.

The 24-hour ward is arranged within a milieu-therapeutic framework, where structure, relationships and clear boundaries are central elements. The youths follow a fixed weekly structure that supports the individual assessment and treatment goals. The ward is staffed with milieu-therapeutic personnel, including social and health care assistants, pedagogues and nurses, who carry out the daily educational and treatment efforts.

We are seeking a specialist psychologist or psychologist who, in collaboration with colleagues, can assume the therapeutic responsibility primarily for our inpatients aged 6–17 years. Your tasks will include holding inpatient and discharge conversations, offering supportive conversations to patients and their relatives, and supporting the milieu staff in working with the patients.

About the position

As a specialist psychologist in the night ward you will be part of an interdisciplinary collaboration and, in close cooperation with the ward's chief physician and senior doctors, have the overall responsibility for patient pathways.

Your duties will include, among other things

  • Psychiatric and psychological assessment.
  • Planning, execution and evaluation of treatment courses.
  • Individual conversations with patients.
  • Parent and family conversations.
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration.
  • Guidance and supervision of psychologists during specialist training.
  • Supervision of younger psychologist colleagues
  • Contributing to outpatient assessment.

As a specialist psychologist in the night ward you will become a central part of a dedicated, multidisciplinary team that works intensively and holistically with the child, the young person and the family.

You will have the opportunity to

  • Actively contribute to the development and further shaping of the night ward's concept and practice.
  • Work with some of the most complex child and adolescent psychiatric problems focusing on the child in their context.
  • Enter into close collaboration with the family and relevant partners.
  • Become part of a larger organization with a large and professionally strong group of psychologists.
  • Join a close team with weekly multidisciplinary conferences.

We offer

  • An exciting position with great professional variation and good development opportunities.
  • A day-worked position where you have the opportunity to influence the planning of working hours.
  • A mono-disciplinary community with nearly 40 other psychologists in the department.
  • Supervision, co-rating and test supervision.
  • A ward characterized by team spirit, engagement and shared responsibility.
  • A work environment focused on holistic view, quality and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Opportunity to put your professional mark on an offering under further development.
  • An department with an exciting professional environment and focus on quality and development in clinical work. The goal is to ensure well-trained psychologists with high job satisfaction.

We are looking for a psychologist who

  • Is trained as a specialist psychologist.
  • Has an interest in 24-hour treatment and intensive treatment programs.
  • Works in a structured and independent way while thriving in close teamwork.
  • Has an eye for both the child, the family and the surrounding systems.
  • Wants to actively contribute to professional development and reflection.
