We have a position as a specialist obstetrician in the obstetric team at Women’s Diseases and Births, Randers Regional Hospital, to be filled by February 1, 2027 or by agreement.

We expect that you

  • Have the willingness and ability to help develop and shape the future of obstetrics in Randers
  • Are eager to learn new things and apply your knowledge in the department

We work cross-disciplinary and team-based for good and valuable patient pathways and orient ourselves toward the latest professional development. Re-thinking patient treatment and diagnostic work is one of the department’s values, as we strive to incorporate transformation and sustainability into all patient contacts. We look with curiosity at how the core task is solved and whether we can find new professional solutions that robustly strengthen the professional community.

All specialists have organizational or administrative posts, and we share the responsibility of getting today’s tasks done. We place great emphasis on a good tone and good collaboration - both cross-disciplinary and intercollegial - and we are conscious of a recognition-based and respectful culture in the department. We have a flat management structure and there are often short paths from idea to implementation.

We would like to support your plans for further education or your desire for subspecialization to realize them.

Obstetric Team

The obstetric team consists of 5 specialists with functions in the Pregnancy Clinic, on the delivery unit and in management of elective cesareans.

In the Pregnancy Clinic, obstetric ultrasound and fetal medicine are performed in collaboration with 6 sonographers, of whom two are professional coordinators. Recently we have developed new patient pathways within gestational diabetes and hypertension, and we look forward to collaborating with the endocrinologists on pregnant women with insulin-requiring gestational diabetes in 2027.

We have around 2300 births annually, of which about 175 are elective cesareans from AUH’s catchment area. We have close cooperation with the neonatal department in the house and have births from 28+0 weeks.

The delivery department has 6 labor rooms and clinical midwifery supervision in a 24/7 function. We use upright UK techniques and have annual team training sessions in acute obstetrics.

It is one of the department’s values that the family can be together before, during and after birth.

Physician Staffing

We are 1 chief physician, 4 consultants, 8 specialist physicians, 4 physicians in H-positions, 2 physicians in I-positions and 6-8 junior doctors.

Consultants and specialists cover the on-call duties, which is a 12-shift in-person duty from the on-call room.

There is a pre-shift in the 24-hour duty and the on-call team consists of all training physicians.

Research

The department has an active research environment and participates in several national and international clinical studies. There is affiliated 1 clinical associate professor and 1 external lecturer to the department.
